Notes: God's Eye is a wild Porter and is crafted with Pilsner Malt, Blue Ballad malt, Chocolate Wheat Malt, Flaked Oats, Flaked Rye, and Midnight Wheat, then aged on blackberries for undertones of chocolate covered berries & jammy red wine. God's Eye is fermented and aged in oak barrels for several months with our wild yeast culture and then bottle conditioned.

Appearance: Pours a fudge color with a thick mocha head; strands of lacing coat

Smell: Funky black bread, chocolate and blackberry tones, with an oaky aspect underpinning

Taste: Black bread and chocolate with the Brett and the blackberry competing for attention; ; pecan and oak tones emerge, in the middle, but the funk and vinous blackberry tones dominate the finish; there is also a very dry aspect in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Medium body with buoyant, Belgian carbonation

Overall: The second bottle of Cellar West beer that I brought back from Boulder last week and I am quite impressed by this brewery; the two beers are tried are both unique and this one has floored me; don't know why these beers aren't getting more ticks - maybe because the brewery is not making juicy IPAs, fruited sours or big stouts
