Nightingale SaisonNightingale Saison
Notes: This saison is brewed with oats, which lend a downy soft body and mild grain undertones. With a light-handed addition of Nelson Sauvin and Citra hops, Nightingale glows with gooseberry aromatics and delicate flavors of kumquat & lychee. This spirited little farm beer is naturally conditioned in this can.

Bright, clear, yellow body; very lively carbonation; thick and frothy head, white and creamy; rings of foam surround the interior of the glass. Mild barnyard funk; wheat-like grain scent; grassy and herbal; a bit of leather. The taste follows similar lines as the smell; brighter flavors; a light touch of bitterness lingers in the back. Medium body; relatively smooth and gentle on the palate yet with a spicy, carbonated prickliness on the palate; medium dry overall, especially at the finish.

This saison leaves out a lot of the wild yeast funk one might expect with a traditional saison and actually seems more like a pale lager in taste and feel yet has just enough saison edge to let you know it's not a pale beer per se. It's well-rounded and very approachable.
