Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall Summit pint glass. Bottle says enjoy by 03/22/15.
Appearance: Pours a deep amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Big three finger off white head with decent retention.
Smell: A juicy and earthy hop forward aroma with good hints of citrus, pine, and grass. Juicy citrus hops with hints of grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, mango, tangerine, apricot, and melon. Floral, earthy, and herbal hops with some good hints of pine resin, grass, and spice. Backing hints of malt with some caramel, grains, cracker, and yeast. A pretty good hoppy aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a nicely ripe, juicy, and earthy hop forward taste with good notes of citrus fruit, pine, and grass. Upfront citrus hops with notes of grapefruit, mango, orange peel, lemon, apricot, tangerine, and melon. Good mix of earthy and herbal hops with some spicy notes of pine resin along with some grass. Hops are moderately bitter. Solid backing of malt with some notes of grains, cracker, caramel, and yeast. A pretty nice taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very juicy and fairly oily with a drying finish.
Overall: A pretty good Fresh Hop IPA. Has the big hop flavors you expect with moderate bitterness.

Summit Unchained Series Batch No. 17: Harvest Fresh IPA. Tom Mondor, brewer. Best Served in a Pint Glass. What do you know, I have one. Let's put some beer in it.
Appearance: clear, bright amber hue, beautiful creamy white head, leaving lace and looking great.
Aroma: delicate floral notes and fresh fruitiness. Nice.
Taste: First word: yum. More words? Okay…fresh stone fruit flavors, apricot and peach, now here come the tropics, pineapple and papayas…hop bitterness grows on the palate, but stays on the mild side. Flavors grow and grow and I'm left with yum. This is not an overpowering, punishing, in your face kind of fresh hop IPA.
Medium-bodied, long finish, supreme drinkability. Veers slightly on the sweet side, with a healthy malt body to match the high hops.
What kind of details can we get from the label? Not much, so I'll check the 6-pack carrier…"Profile: Pine, resin, grapefruit, citrus, strong malt backbone. Color: golden amber, malts: full pint 2 row, Munich, Caramel Munich, Best Caramel Malt Light. Fresh hops: Centennial, Cascade, Chinook, Wet Hops: Chinook, IBU: 70, ABV: 7%."
