Poured into a pint glass.
3.5 A: Depending on the lighting, this is orange amber or amber brown in color. About one finger of frothy off-white head dies down quickly, but leaves a decent amount of lacing.
3.5 S: Pungent floral and citrus hops with emphasis on pineapple and grapefruit. Not much going on malt-wise except for a touch of the standard crystal malt presence. Still, reasonably pleasant.
3.0 T: Moderate, or maybe more, hop bitterness. Crystal malts with a very slight nuttiness. Touch of citrusy hops. None of the flavors are very strong other than the bitterness and they don't go together that well.
3.0 M: Medium body. Carbonation is a bit too high and is very bity, giving a not very smooth journey down.
3.0 D: This isn't a terrible brew, but it's hard to figure out what is good about it.

Rating from notes. Consumed Summer 2012. "A classic US Red Ale with a robust yet balanced hop character (citrusy), nice dryness, and oily-resiny mouthfeel."

Another good beer from this summit variety pack. Faint citrus piney smell. Mouth feel is pretty light for the style. Seems like another easy drinker. Would buy again.

A clear red ale with medium carbonation rising. About a finger of tan foamy head that settles down to a ring and leaves some moderate lacing. The aroma is malty and dank with some pine notes, too. Same goes for the flavor and a bit of citrus in the form of grapefruit. Mouthfeel is medium thick body, full carbonation and dry. Fresh, this is a nice dank single red IPA. Worth a try, very nice price for what you get.
