Get thee to the Muddy Pig and fast to try this wonderful beer. Wow.

A - Light caramel with 1 finger head.

S - Citrusy hops with oats and wheat.

T - Taste explosion. Very nice balance of powerful orange and pine hops with an earthy blend of grains and grasses.

M - Big and chewy. Lingers on the tongue for about 30 seconds.

O - The best I've tasted from Summit. Really flippin' delicious. I hope they decide to make more of this one. Might be closer to an IIPA than any other type. Note: they have corrected the ABV to 7% (not 10). It still packs a punch but not a hay-maker.

Special release brewed exclusively to mark the Muddy Pig's tenth year and 1000th beer tapping. Made with 10 malts and 10 hops.
Served in a tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours a clear and fairly bright amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About three fingers of white foam head with decent retention. Leaves a decent amount of lacing around the glass.

Smell: A pretty big and complex aroma. Hops stick out the most. A combination of west coast citrus hops with some spicy pine resin. Also a strong and complex malt background with some caramel and dark elements. Lot of aromas going on here.

Taste: Very hoppy upfront with a sharp bitterness from a big combination of citrus and herbal, earthy hops. Good hints of citrus grapefruit, orange, and pineapple. Also a big presence of spicy and herbal earthy hops and pine resin. Seems like an imperial IPA at first but then a big bready malt taste comes in. Notes of caramel, toffee, and biscuit. Also a noticeable dark roasty hint from chocolate malt (chocolate malt is listed on the ingredient sheet at the bar). Quite an interesting and tasty beer.

Mouthfeel: Body feels on the heavier side and carbonation is moderate. has a very juicy and chewy feel. Alcohol is hidden pretty well by the big mix of hops and malts. Finishes pretty dry.

Overall: This experiment came off pretty well. The hops and malts play off each other nicely and don't overtake each other. A big and balanced beer.
