Very authentic tasting Hefeweizen, can compete with any major German brand doing that style.
Nice color, texture, love the taste - perfect. Regrets? Missing the glass bottle - canned white beer just doesn't feel right.
Other than that - once its in a glass... perfect.

500ml bottle poured into Sam Adams pint glass.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with half a finger of puffy white head that leaves cliffside cave formation lace as it recedes.

Smells of unsalted crackers, black pepper, clove, banana, soft lemon zest and mild grassy, floral hops.

Tastes of more crackery wheat, peppery cloves, mild banana and apple chips, faint lemon juice and more flowery hops.

Feels light and fizzy. Light bodied with zippy carbonation. Finishes off-dry.

Verdict: Recommended. Perfect for the combination of grassfire smoke and insane heat we've been experiencing in Edmonton over the last few days.

16oz pint at Beer Revolution - about time that I got around to trying this one - I always seem to just miss it.

This beer appears a hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with one skinny finger of puffy, loosely foamy, and somewhat creamy bone-white head, which leaves a few instances of cannonball splash aftermath lace around the glass as things quickly move on.

It smells of bready and doughy wheat malt, wet banana chips, some clove and white pepper spice, a further bit of crackery graininess, and some tame earthy, weedy, and floral hops. The taste is semi-sweet caramel malt, some lesser cereal wheatiness, muddled earthy spice, a touch of banana/apple/pear fruitiness, and more laid-back leafy, floral, and grassy hop bitterness.

The carbonation is quite active in its frolicking frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and quite smooth, with a decent creaminess pretty much there from the get-go. It finishes well off-dry, the robust malt contending with a minor lingering spiciness.

Overall, this is one tasty and engaging version of the style, nice and fruity and spicy. Better suited to a warm Spring day on the patio, than a slushy February warm spell, but I'm glad that I got to have it all the same.
