Pours black. Short, thick, tan head that lasts a while with a lasting ring.
Smells roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and caramel.
Tastes coffee, caramel and chocolate. Followed by roasted malt and light earthy bitterness. Finish is semi dry with a roasted linger. Medium body and smooth low carbonation a little watery.

Pours a pitch black coloration with a medium, creamy head. Smells of roasted malt and coffee, with a hint of dark chocolate, toffee and licorice. Taste follows the nose pretty much exactly, with a rich, roasted malt and coffee flavour and notes of dark chocolate, toffee, licorice and tobacco. Finishes with a dry, medium bitterness. Body is quite light and watery, with very low carbonation.
This has a really lovely aroma and nicely balanced taste, but is heavily let down by a very light and watery body, even for a Dry Stout. It really drinks almost like water when it comes to body/mouthfeel. This could have been quite nice with a more creamy texture.

Lots of roasty and coffee flavor, with a hint of dark chocolate. Unfortunately it suffers from a slight wateriness as do many Irish dry stouts. Needless to say, this is (far) superior to Guinness but it was my least favorite beer of the night.
