My first visit to this store in more than 12 years of homebrewing, which says how good our other homebrew store is.

Very limited, small selection. You can eke out the basics for extract brewing, but that's about it. Almost everything in the store, apart from the liquid yeast, was pre-packaged Carlson stuff. Which is fine, for what it is, but it adds an extra level of mark-up.

Basic selection of extracts and specialty grains. Basic selection of beginning equipment. Basic selection of equipment. Basic.

Staff were occupied with other customers in the organic/hydroponic gardening section of the store, which takes up the bulk of the floor space, so I'll re-review should I have the opportunity to speak with them in the future. Best feature is that this place is open seven days a week until 6 p.m., which our other homebrew store most decidedly is not.

WORMS WAY DOESN'T SELL BREWING SUPPLIES. It's focus is on pot growing and whatever else one grows with hydroponics. It stinks and is generally filthy inside. The customer service was terrible, zero stars overall.

This is a combination wine/homebrewing/organic/hydroponic gardening shop, and the focus seems to be on the growing part rather than the beermaking part. The selection overall is pretty basic and can be hit and miss as far as what's in stock at any given time. Hops and yeast seem to be even more basic/limited then the malts and other misc supplies. If you need something in a pinch and it's a fairly basic ingredient, then they probably have it, but I'd call ahead. The staff is certainly friendly and they try to be helpful, although I'm not sure just how much experience they have on the homebrewing side. Prices are fair/reasonable, not too high, not too low.

Homebrew selection is mediocre at best and the yeast selection is not properly rotated, the wyeast smack pack I wanted was 6+ months old and after reviewing the other packs I saw several expired packs. The hops and yeast are in a fridge accessable to all which is probably part of the problem. The staff seemed slightly bothered by having to deal with homebrewing questions and did not seem very knowledgeable when it comes to home brewing. I probably won't ever go back to this place for anything homebrew related, on a side note it is a very nice gardening/hydroponic store.

This store has a pretty small homebrew section, they have most of the basic supplies, the selection of brewing ingredients is nothing
spectacular just your average selection, the staff is very helpful and
knowledgable. This is mostly an indoor gardening and hydroponics store with a great selection of indoor lighting and growing supplies, they have everything you need for the indoor marijuana grower.

Quality: The quality of everything offered seemed to be good and fresh, until I saw several smack-packs of Wyeast (at full price) that had already had their inner pouch broken. There goes their shelf life... On the other hand, the bulk of their yeast and all of their hops are kept refridgerated.

Service: The employees seemed knowledgable and eager to help. I was looking for something specific and, while they didn't have it, the guy helping me led me in the right direction.

Selection: They have a fairly good selection of grains, hops, and yeast. I would like to see more fresh, whole-leaf hops available, as they only had four varieties. Lots of different types in the plug format. The selection of extract kits is pretty good, though I wonder how long they've been on the shelf.
