This place is easy to find, right on the corner of a major intersection. Parking is a non-issue, since valet is available and the lot looks to be a good size for when the place is not busy. I had never been to this part of Kentucky, and I only took a brief stroll around the area, so I can't comment too much on the nieghborhood, except to say that the Kentucky side riverfront seemed clean and well-kept, with plenty to see and do on a beautiful Saturday in April. There seemed to be many places to get a drink or have dinner, and The Irish Pub inside the mall(don't remember the name) was cool, especially since you can still smoke in Kentucky!!!

Hofbrauhaus has to be the best place to get a beer though. We went to the outdoor Biergarten first, where they had cornhole set-up out of the way and a patio section sprinkled with whiskey barrel planters.(first hop shoots coming up nicely) We sat at the tables and a server was with us immediately. Warm and friendly, but also knowledgable and courteous- traits that most of the servers, waiters, and hosts showed here. we got the sampler, only 6 beers I think- but its all made in-house and fresh, so whaddaya want?

Pretzels and bier cheese were outstanding, and of course complimented the biers well. Seasonal was a true-to style and well-done Schwarzbier that washed down the pork cutlets with demi-glaze nicely. we all shared a little of what we ordered and it all tasted traditional and delicious. By the time I had a full liter in front of me I was dining in the bier hall so I didn't want to break the vibe with a review, but I'll say that every bier was fantastic.

Food is reasonably priced and the drink prices are normal for a brew pub that brews on-premise with no outside beer served.

Definitley a place to go for good beer, but a nice to take the family or could even make a fun date. Prosit!!!

Reasonably authentic German beer house, right by the touristy levee area in Newport. Large, open dining area with community tables. Some bar rail seating, which is where we sat.

The German style beers were nicely done, and served in full or 1/2 liter mugs. In my opinion they were not fantastic, but certainly well worth drinking. They have a can filling station for to go consumption, but they seemed a bit pricey.

The food menu was fairly large, we just split a appetizer sampler plate which was huge , consisting of sauerkraut balls, potato pancakes, fried pickles etc. It was more than enough for two at a reasonable price.

Would return.

excellent place for a good night of German food and good beer. They established a new beer, the Hofbrau Hallodri, which was excellent!

I would definitely return, as the food, service, and atmosphere were absolutely awesome!

Not necessarily the place to go if you're on a tight budget, but the price for the portion size is awesome! We almost always bring home leftovers!
