I love Oktoberfest beers. I feel this one is very good. Taste is a slightly on the darker, denser side. Possibly lagerish. Nice gold color. Smells of hearty, toasted bread, somewhat sweet with a finish of spice. This is one of the better Oktoberfest class beers in my opinion.

Had at BJ's Oktoberfest dinner 2017 so took no notes. I enjoyed it though.

Yeah, don't like Ofest beers that look like Lite. Hoppy, weak mouth, nice abv. Best thing in my belly!

L: nice golden color with an off white longer lasting head.
S: I would say that the nose is overly hopped. There is some toast or roast hidden in there though.
T: over bitter for the style. Nice toasty flavor hidden in there though. Clean with little residual sweetness.
F: medium mouthful with lower carbonation. No alcohol warming.
O: very drinkable and other than being over bitter for the style it's good. Not the best example of the style.

I know that genuine Marzens are generally not the copper color of their American cousins, however, it is still difficult to see an Oktoberfest that is as light in color as Miller Lite.

The nose is a touch toasty and malty but it is certainly not anything special. The flavor is solidly malty and the body is hearty as well.

From a 500ml bottle served straight from the fridge at 8 degrees Celsius into a white wine glass. Best before date: 20.06.2018. Reviewed live in Toronto in the comfort of my own place.

Look: The beer pours a brilliant yellow/pale gold with 6cm of creamy, moussy, white head that fades into a craggy cap in 3+ minutes. Decent lacing and overall head.

Smell: Faint strength and corny-sweet. Slight DMS, toasty/bready pale malts, and noble hops with their spicy and floral character.

Taste: Follows suit with the aroma. Mild strength and balancing towards sweet. Fruity, floral, and spicy hops with toasty/bready pale malts. The finish is short and bitter with mild strength.

Feel: Medium-light body with mild carbonation. A bit creamy and quite delicate with no apparent alcohol which at 6.3% ABV is not unheard of but yet quite commendable.

Overall: This beer strikes me more as an international lager than a märzen or a festbier. Simple in nature with only mediocre drinkability. What surprises me is the fact that this beer has some elegance to it. Throughout the consumption I've been wondering if this is a brew worth trying or not and by the end of the bottle I've decided it's just not worth it. There's an ineffable unpleasantness in the flavour and mouthfeel that just get to me (an adjunct quality?). I wouldn't buy it again.
