Lighter in color than American Octoberfest beers. Taste is very well balanced, not too sweet or bitter. Fruity aroma hard for me to distinguish. Light lacing down the glass. An excellent example of what an Octoberfest beers should be.

11.2 oz. bottle

Pours clear golden yellow with a dense creamy white foam head. Smells like big apples, pear, grape, some caramel, honey malts, crackery toasted crusty white bread, mild spice, with floral earthy herbal grass. Tastes like apples, pears, grape, some caramel, honey, big rich crusty toasted white bready malts, sweet crackery grain, mild spice, with floral earthy herbal grass. Feels medium bodied, thick and creamy with moderate low carbonation. Overall a really great Oktoberfestbier.

Tasted in a pint glass from draught at Firkin on October 11, 2016. Look is clear gold with a thin white head and spotty lacing. Smell and taste is typical German fest beer. Feel is light in body with an easy finish.

Poured into dimpled seidel. No head when settled, only bubbles for lace. Golden straw color.

Smooth, light malty smell, some fruit.

Tastes malty, but has a bitter end that gives at that Oktoberfestbier distinction.

Mouth: Goes down mostly smooth.

This Wiesn type Oktoberfest tastes somewhere between Euro Pale lager and Munich helles, albeit more sophisticated than common examples. Served at the official Oktoberfest celebrations in Munich. Good helles lager.

Had this at the HofBrau Tent on opening day of Octoberfest 2016. I don't know if waiting outside in the rain for two hours made it taste better, but once we got in and I finally had my Liter Glass dimpled mug. It was awesome. Of course the 3000 people in the tent raging on like they were at the World Cup Finals probably helped a little!
The beer is great, the biggest Ocotberfest Party in the world was even better. One of those things you have to do at least once in your life. And the Hofbrau tent with this beer is probably the pinacle of German beer heaven. I recommend this beer to everyone, especially if you can drink it where it was meant to be enjoyed.

Clear pale golden-straw, lightly carbonated, 3/4 inch creamy white head, receding at a moderate pace, leaving a little lacing just above the head as it recedes that follows the head down. Pleasant fruity aroma, some bread, some apricot. The label says this is an ale; the mouth feel is what you would expect from an ordinary lager. Mild malty flavor, not sweet at all, little bittering detectable in either the initial taste, the middle, or the finish. The finish is relatively clean, but slightly clinging. An easy-drinking beer that could be enjoyed throughout the evening at an Oktoberfest beer hall, but also a simple beer without much complexity.

From Hipercor. In Bavaria glass. Watching Los Soprano 5x09. All you expect in the style very well executed. Ultradrinkable and malty, with some grassy bitterness. A pity it isnt available all year long.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass

A- pours a pale clear straw color with a thin creamy white head that has good retention after the pour, leaving a bit of lacing behind

S- smells of that classic green bottle skunk, along with toasted grains, grassy and floral hops, slightly bready

T- grainy and fruity ip front, followed by light grassy and floral hop notes, not really picking up the bready/caramel flavors that is expected of the style. The finish drops off quick and is slightly watery, with lingers of grassy hop and skunk

M- medium body with moderate-low carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns into a creamy crisp finish, high drinkability

O- drinks more like a standard pilsener than an oktoberfest, but it is highly drinkable and goes down easy, which serves its primary purpose
