From a 12 oz bottle marked “Hofbrau Munchen - Oktoberfest” perhaps a variation of labeling from “Oktoberfestbier.” Into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass, golden clear color with moderate precipitating carbonation fuelling a small head of white foam. Pleasant nose of sweet malt with a small hint of citrus hops in the background. Mouth is similarly malt-forward with hops asserting at the back with a clean, dry, subtle bitterness. Mouth is pleasingly crisp and quenching. Overall: Nothing to write home about but overall a very enjoyable brew. Would try again.

I tasted it in the oktoberfest. Great flavor, with soft body and smell

Pours a crystal clear and semi-orange golden yellow with a pillowy two finger head of foam.

Richly toasted malts and noble hop spicy aromas.

Noble hops lend a touch of earthy/herbal flavor as well as a hint of citrus pith, but the sweet toasted malts take front stage.

Light-bodied, high carbonation, crisp, tight carbonation, satisfyingly drinkable.

Overall, while this is certainly not the greatest marzen I've had it's definitely on par with the style and highly crushable.

Two fingers of pillowy, white head. Massive amount of bubbles rising, and a nice rich gold in color. Leaves some nice lacing down the glass. Aroma is strong grassy/grainy hops and crackery malt. Flavor is exactly like aroma just more so. Nice sweetness to the beer but not at all syrupy or toffee like. Like a pilsner on roids! Feel is medium body and a little slick, dryer on the finish, with plenty of carbonation. Every time I drink beer from a green bottle now, I expect a big sulfur hit. There is none of that from this, just that really pungeant hop profile. Very nice brew, indeed.

Lighter in color than American Octoberfest beers. Taste is very well balanced, not too sweet or bitter. Fruity aroma hard for me to distinguish. Light lacing down the glass. An excellent example of what an Octoberfest beers should be.

11.2 oz. bottle

Pours clear golden yellow with a dense creamy white foam head. Smells like big apples, pear, grape, some caramel, honey malts, crackery toasted crusty white bread, mild spice, with floral earthy herbal grass. Tastes like apples, pears, grape, some caramel, honey, big rich crusty toasted white bready malts, sweet crackery grain, mild spice, with floral earthy herbal grass. Feels medium bodied, thick and creamy with moderate low carbonation. Overall a really great Oktoberfestbier.

Tasted in a pint glass from draught at Firkin on October 11, 2016. Look is clear gold with a thin white head and spotty lacing. Smell and taste is typical German fest beer. Feel is light in body with an easy finish.
