Sampling right now on 9/25/14. Comes in a pretty 330ml (11.2 ounce) green bottle. Just bought a single one to try but comes in a 6-pack. From the Staattliches Hofbräuhaus in München (Munich) Germany. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a .3l glass 'boot'.

Pours a straw-yellow with a good 1/2+ finger foamy white head that settles down to about a 2mm head. Some spotty lacing was seen when sipped. Lots of streaming bubbles rising from the bottom and sides of the .3l (about 11.5 ounce) 'boot'. The aroma is of German grains with a slight floral hops. A bit more going on with the taste with some spicy hops in there as well. Very slightly dry but lightly sweet finish as well. Overall, not as good as some of the other Oktoberfest brews I have tried recently but was decent.

Pours out a pale gold with an excellent head and lace. Looks way too pale for the style. Way to pale. Might be mislabled (style-wise) the label doesn't describe it as a marzen though. I'd say it still looks tasty.
Smells super crisp. Pale malts, some sweet sugar and earthy hops. Inviting but just above average.
Nice sweet, crisp taste with a bit o' hops to balance it.A little light on the mouth. Very drinkable, thank god I got a keg.

Aroma: Light sulfur. Mild floral aroma.Very clean

Appearance: Pale gold. I know modern Oktoberfests are a lot lighter, but this is more like a light pilsner. Big fluffy white head. Very clear lots of bubbles. Good lacing.

Flavor: Sweet bready flavors dominate. Floral hops add interest to finish. Crisp and refreshing. Medium-low bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Sweet up front but finishes dry. High carbonation. Medium mouthfeel, more than expected from color. Alcohol not noticeable.

Overall: I was turned off by color to begin with, but this turned out to be a pretty tasty beer. Not strong enough to scare away the BMC drinkers, enough flavor to hold the interest of craft drinkers. I still prefer the older darker style Oktoberfests, but I can see easily myself kicking back a few liters of this.

From a 12 oz bottle marked “Hofbrau Munchen - Oktoberfest” perhaps a variation of labeling from “Oktoberfestbier.” Into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass, golden clear color with moderate precipitating carbonation fuelling a small head of white foam. Pleasant nose of sweet malt with a small hint of citrus hops in the background. Mouth is similarly malt-forward with hops asserting at the back with a clean, dry, subtle bitterness. Mouth is pleasingly crisp and quenching. Overall: Nothing to write home about but overall a very enjoyable brew. Would try again.
