A foggy body with a light white head. Scents of hallertau hops and slight banana backdrop. Smooth palate a bit slick, light to medium with medium carbonation. Sweet but not cloying. Easy to drink and very sessionable. My only gripe is there is a bit of an oft taste on the wash. Hard to describe but otherwise, a nice clean German beer.

This is simply one of the best, most balanced lagers around. Everything is subtle and in its place with this beer, from the delicious, warming malt to the bracing hop finish. Just great.

Smell of steamed vegetables, taste is balanced, more so than other Helles beers which lean more towards malty sweetness.

This has a slight bitterness of steamed and seasoned broccoli (this may sound inappealing but it actually is very drinkable).

Subtlety and balance with a fullish mouth-feel.

It does not really inspire from the first sip but you keep coming back for more ... and more.

11.2 poured into nonic pint

A: pretty much your standard piss yellow body not much of a Head.

S: grainy malts, a slight green apple and some light breadiness.

T: it’s not bad mostly grainy corn like and some breadiness but otherwise not much.

M: dry finish on this beer otherwise it’s fairly light.

O: it’s pretty much your standard light lager fair, this may be harsh but you put this and any other Macro brew lager in a line up I couldn’t guess which is which.

Pour is straw colored and clear. Aromas of floral and grassy hops, malty biscuit. Nice malt character hits the tongue first, followed quickly by grassy hops and a little spicy kick at the finish. Clean finish, refreshing.

Pours a clear yellow straw color, moderate foam head, decent retention. Looks on par with style.
Grassy aroma soon superseded by, interestingly enough, citrus, along with sweet biscuity grains and a touch of floral hops.
Bright flavors of citrus, pear, and doughy malt sweetness. Finely balanced by grassy hops, noble hops spice and a moderate clean bitterness. Dry palate with a slight refreshing acidity. The finish is dry, clean and with a slight lemony flavor.
Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. The firm malt body is coated by fruit, hops spice and a slight lemony tartness; good dynamic balance.
I’m sure I’ve had this one but somehow missed out on reviewing. Gotta have more, more often.

Bottle bought in Germany. Pours clear, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is grass, wheat, and floral hops. Light bodied, high carbonation, and sweet. Very clean. Makes for an all day, exceptionally clean lager. One of the better helles lagers I have had.

Look - poured from a 12 oz bottle. Pale yellow with plenty of carbonation and a small (half-finger) head.
Smell - malts and a distinct german hoppiness, with straws and mixed grains. a bit of spiciness.
Taste - robust malty backbone that is moderately hopped. beer finishes clean with a hint of sweetness.
Feel - medium bodied with high carbonation. standard ABV at 5.1%.
Overall - an excellent example of the style. Hofbräu has been in the business for a long time now and do get it right.

Pours straw colored. Mostly clear, albeit a tinge of cloudiness with medium effervescence – tight small bubbles. White pillow-y head dissipates leaving a thin layer of white bubbly foam on top of the beer. 3.75

Aroma has notes of grain, sweet bread, and a slight hint of corn. Definite sweetness in the aroma. Not hop aroma. 3.75

Taste has notes of sweet bread, hints of grain and a noticeable noble hop spiciness in the middle lasting to the finish. 3.75

Medium bodied. Moderately vibrant carbonation. Dry finish. 4.0

Clear and very pale, frothy white head; A noticeable aroma, perhaps a little stinky, (like B.O.?); Tasty, mild and pleasant, crisp, slightly sweet; Slightly tangy mouthfeel; Pretty good, quite drinkable, surprisingly tasty for a beer so pale
