Notes: It’s worth the risk to go for Double Jeopardy IPA. This complex and easy drinking imperial IPA pours a hazy golden orange with a fluffy, stark white foam that dissipates to moderate lacing -- proof of the crime of an empty glass. The aroma floods the senses with bright citrus and New World tropical flavors led by Simcoe hops. Double Jeopardy has a malty bite up front from caramel and pale malts followed by a resinous hoppy middle, then finishes with a lingering, bittersweet boozy tingle. This big and bold unfiltered IPA taunts you: Can you walk away without having another?

Malt: Two-Row Pale, Carafoam, Acidulated, Marris Otter

Dang! Great beer. The previous reviewer mentioned a hint of bubblegum... not detecting it. Is it possible he/she had chewed bubblegum prior to tasting? For example, sometimes I get a hint of mushroom shortly after eating a portabella sandwich, but over time the effect fades. This beer is fantastic, it's got serious citrus hops, a green pepper tone, and goes down smooth. Enjoy. I'll meet you on the other side.

A darker shade of yellow on the pour, the beer itself is a nice mix of citrusy fruits balanced by a pretty hefty malt backbone. I get a hint of bubblegum on the flavor too, which was a nice and unexpected note. The fact that this is a 10+% abv monster and shows not a bit of it in the flavor means this could be a DANGEROUS brew.

Another awesome entry for the soon to open to the public Scofflaw.

Hazy, translucent golden ale topped with a modest off-white head. Good retention and nice lacing. Lots of visible sediment - not egregious, and expected with over 2 months of age on the can.

Mandarin orange, peach, grapefruit peel, lemon, and pine on the nose. Minor tropical and herbal tones, but the focus is definitely on citrus.

Super juicy on the palate, in a really surprising way given the nose. Lots of pineapple, mango, and peach, along with ruby red grapefruit, lemon, and mandarin orange. Plenty of honey, cracker, and white bread from the heavy malt base. Not picking up much caramel; perhaps a touch of brown sugary sweetness.

Smooth and easy to drink; lively, full bodied; slight booziness; incredible presentation for an IPA clocking in the double digits. Hop oils linger, but otherwise it's a semi-dry finish.

This is a shockingly enjoyable, great beer - and this can is over 10 weeks old! Marvelous beer, and the appearance and the nose don't do it justice.

What a surprise, damn, this is good...

Great dark golden color with the creamiest of heads I have seen in a while. The lacing is distinct and down the glass. Smell is typical IPAwith a mouthfeel that has a creamy texture to it. Tastewise I found it to be bold, in your face, and with a hint of citrus, but just a hint. Overall, this is a great offering from GA, glad my son is stationed in Georgia for the time being.

Nice to see the Atlanta beer scene expanding even more. This new beer showed up at Green's a couple of weeks ago. The pour was a bit murky for a DIPA, as the color was somewhat more brown than typical. The head was one to two finger thick, and the body was very hazy. The smell was subdued, herbal, and spicy, which gave this beer a very English profile in the nose. The taste was weirdly sweet for an IPA, and the beer seemed very under attenuated. The hops were present, but mixed with the sweet flavor, the beer felt very tea like. The body was medium thick, and the sweetness made the feel quite sticky. I hope they tweak this recipe some, as it seems to not be very inspiring.

01/31/18 on bottom of can

Dirty sun yellow with 2-finger rocky head with good retention and lacing

Candied pineapple, tobacco, juicy fruit, and pine with typical Scofflaw bready malt base.

Flavor is not as well-integrated as some of their other offerings with a lot of candied fruit, herbal, grapefruit, and melon in the finish. Bready maltiness undercurrent with medium bitterness and light alcohol kiss.

Extremely controlled body heft with light feel for the ABV

Good beer but I like their IPAs better.

Got in a BIF from KMitch. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/4/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, light peppercorn, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, light peppercorn, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 10% after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic DIPA. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not aggressive. Outstanding Simcoe/Galaxy/C's profile. Extremely juicy, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; nice sized bready malt backbone, but not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, very amazing style example. Loved the hop profile as expected.

Poured this into my trusty Thirsty Monk snifter. The body has a hazy dark golden hue, that gives up a thin white head.
The aroma is all over the place with apricots, grapefruit, sugar cookies and caramel.
The flavor is perfectly balanced with the fruity sweetness playing against a strident hop bite.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied.
Overall I'm quite impressed, and highly recommend.
