I don't post many reviews, but I will post this review for all of you Atlantans out there trying to compare the spectrum of outstanding Scofflaw IPAs. I've had them all several times, and I assure you Hooligan is not in the same class as Basement and Double Jeopardy. It's a very finely crafted "session" IPA. It's fairly sophisticated in taste if you are an IPA affectionado. But, double Jeopardy is far and away their finest volume produced beer. After that Basement is their best. Hope that helps.

Thanks to JBowengeorgia for this one. 12oz can poured into 12oz goblet. Pored a lightly hazy light gold color with just over a half-inch of white head that had decent retention and very good lacing.

The aroma had some nice pine and citrus hops, and was backed up by just enough grain as support and contrast.

Pretty similar on the tongue, bright hops and earthy grain.

The body was the typical medium of an American IPA, and had a semi-dry finish.

Drinkability was very good, a nice, solid brew that makes an impression. Overall, a very good example of the style, certainly worth your time if you see it.

Thanks to JLindros for hooking me up with a can of this. Canned on 4/14/17.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice crystal clear golden hue with a two finger creamy white head that fades to leave some nice lacing and a dense creamy halo.

S - Aromas of nice grapefruit skin and juice, some light tropical notes, light pineapple little bit of earthy notes. Thankfully no real big onion presence though some dankness.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with decent amount of bitter hops on the finish. Decent amount of vegative herbal notes. Light dank pine. Little bit of citrus notes. Finish is lingering bitter pine as well.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated and light bodied. The alcohol is hidden, but, the mouth comes across as thin.

O - Overall this was a solid enough IPA. The mosaic wasn't too too overpowering and the onion notes were for the most part restrained.

Chill haze dark orange with a fluffy white head leaving cobweb lace all over.

Smell is orange, peach, pine, corn, Corn Flakes...waves of new stuff coming all the time. Pineapple, mango...it's just so tropical, more and more over time.

Taste is orange, lemon, Skittles, grapefruit, pear, corn and graham.

Feel is round, crisp, and semi-dry.

Hazy pale orange body, 1 cm head
Very bright juicy citrus smell: grapefruit, lemon, peach, also some pine and grass
Bready malts, citrus juice, floral sweetness. Aftertaste is a little grassy
Slightly astringent, light carbonation
An excellent beer. Smells more citrus but tastes more floral, though well balanced in all

L - Cloudy brownish/yellow, with 1 full finger of head and nice lacing left all over the beer and glass. Beautiful

S - Big citrus aroma, passion fruit, and other tropical aromas

T - Like the aroma, tons of citrus fruits, grapefruit, passion fruit, pineapple. Not much bittering

F - Medium body and carbonation.

O - A tasty citrus forward IPA - could use a little more balance with bitterness but very good nonetheless

Canned 4/17/18, I think this came from Ravenforbeer
Pours a nice fizzy foamy 1 finger head that fades at a med to slower pace, nice lacing, crystal clear honey pilsner color

Nose a bit of sweet malt, floral grassy spicy hops with unique citrus fruit, hand of Buddha, citrusy like winterberry, stone fruit, a bit of generic tropical

Taste sweet malts, candy like malt with a little biscuity, into candied fruit hops, candied apricot, orange marmalade and candy, sweetened tangerine, pineapple coming though and really starting to dominate, candied dried pineapple though, mild bitterness increasing as it dries on the finish, a touch of alcohol, little spicy like

Mouth is med to fuller bod, nice carb, touch of alcohol

Overall not bad, an interesting beer, thankfully no bad Mosaic, big and sweet but nice

I love Scofflaw because they don’t forget the malt in their IPAs. I wish they had canned on dates.

Light amber with 2-finger off white head with good retention and lacing.

Flavor jumps out at you with hop complexity — grapefruit, mango, pineapple, dank herbal onion, a little bit of resin — but the maltiness makes you remember this beer, a solid base with breadiness and character that is unique. Bitterness is moderate.

Feel is also excellent with medium body, lowish carbonation and dry finish.

I like both of Scofflaw’s main IPAs — Hooligan and Basement. I like Basement a little better for its cleaner hop profile but this Hooligan is a world-class American IPA.

Poured from 12 oz can dated 11/28/2018

A: Clear sunshine yellow with 2 finger frothy white head. Decent retention and plentiful lacing.

S: Passionfruit, mango, pineapple, and candied oranges.

T: Nice blend of bitter dank hops and juicy citrus. Again with pineapple, passion fruit, and mango.

M: Medium bodied with average carbonation. Soft creamy texture with subtle bitter finish.

O: Well executed and easy drinking IPA. Crushable for 7% and showcases the galaxy and mosaic hops.

a delicious golden ipa with a sticky resinous hop vibe and a very pale and simple malt base, super fresh, well proportioned, and just really well made. i need to get my hands on more of their stuff, the few i have had have been enormously impressive. tons of nuance here from tangerine to mango to floral honey, but its still quite bitter too. there is a light grain sweetness through it, but its balancing and its dry by the end, super dank as it warms up a little bit, more pronounced weed-like essences, and i am surprised its as strong as it is, it drinks easy because its so fresh and flavorful. juicy and summery, canned pineapple and mandarin oranges, lots of brightness and no hop burn at all for how obviously dry hopped it is. some light candy-like elements from the hops too, sort of crystalline and concentrated, i love it. this is super well made ipa, and another winner from scofflaw. something about this is the right mix of old school and new school, and it really appeals to me as such. the best of all possible worlds here, great beer!

pours a hazy, light golden amber with a medium head. nose; underripe mango, light apricot/passionfruit, & sweet bread/cake. taste; white bread malt, lemongrass, orange rind, berry phenols, bitter mango, & citrus hops. medium carbonation & mouthfeel. a decent beer, but it’s overshadowed by scofflaw’s better-in-every-way “basement ipa”.

On tap, pours a clear deep gold. Lots of lacing, good looking beer. Smell is a combination of tropical fruit, citrus and pine. Taste follows. Very enjoyable IPA.

Great golden haze with nice lacing. Aroma is nice with notes of tropical fruit, definitely forward with this vs a piney bouquet. Taste follows. I'm detecting prominent Columbus hops but I could be wrong. Tropical but some herbal flavor with bubblegum. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Quite a nice IPA.

12oz can from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 2.69. No canning date but this has just hit shelves. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.

Pours a soft, opaque yellow with a finger and a half of cakey white head. Pale wisps across the surface touch a wide belt and broad sheets of lacing decorate the glass.

This smells really good. Notes of pineapple, mango, oranges and a hint of biscuity malt.

Tastes of juicy, fuity hops. Mango, oranges, pineapple, passion fruit, seeded berries and a vague hint of shortbread. That juicy, delicious hop profile makes this difficult to drink slowly.

Medium body, almost juice-like, with generous carbonation. The hoppy notes of pineapple, mangoes and oranges last long into the aftertaste.

Hooligan is another excellent hoppy release from relative newcomer, Scofflaw. In just a few short months on the market these guys have shown that they can brew the heck out of some IPAs. Their Basement IPA is really good but this blows it away. I'll be keeping my eyes on these guys.

12 oz can picked up at the brewery yesterday,..

Orangish color to this brew, but the smell makes you really want to dive in..A mix of tropical aromas that definitely follow through on the taste, with a light bready malt to go with it. Mouthfeel is soft with a pleasant bitterness to balance the fruitness on the taste.

Definite winner, loving with the kids are Scofflaw are pulling off so far!

Poured from 12 ounce can into snifter. No date on can but according to brewery site it was canned this week. Served at approximately 40-42 degrees.

Golden-golden orange in color with a one inch fluffy white head that fades over a few minutes to a nice ring and a thin foam cap. Some lacing but does not cling for very long.

Nice nose with lots tropical and fruity aromas of pineapple, passion fruit, and mango.

Taste follows the nose. Hop forward.

Medium to full body with mild bitterness.

Overall another great IPA from Scofflaw.

Poured from a can dated 4/17 into a Riedel tulip. The liquid is a pale, translucent gold, with lots of carbonation rising quickly through it. The pour kicks up a fluffy white head that leaves a solid amount of lace on the way down.

Smell is citrusy, floral hops, with a caramel/biscuit malt backbone

Taste is prickly citrus hops with a nice dank undercurrent. Malts are present but understated. Finish is clean, with a perfect amount of lingering bitterness on the tongue.

Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with lots of sharp carbonation. Works great for the flavor!

Overall, really great ATL IPA. Great dank hop flavor without being too much.

Finally managed to make a trip to Scofflaw, these guys are putting out some amazing beers!
Had a pour at the brewery as well as a sixer to bring home (enjoyed 4/1, canned 3/31).
Pours a hazy yellow orange with three fingers of off white head that lingers leaving a nice lacing all the way down.
Smells juicy, tropical.
Taste follows some citrus but lots of tropical flavors with a bit of malt keeping it together but still hoppy.
Feels medium to full.

This is my second time trying this, must have gotten an old 6 pack the first time. The green onion dominance has been drastically reduced.
Smells amazing, fresh tropical fruit. The mosaic and galaxy provide for easily one of the most complex tasting ipa’s I have ever tried. Taste Earthy, slightly fruity, (mango, passion fruitish) yet still dank and earthy. Extremely well balanced. Only comparison that comes to mind is the basement ipa which is amazing as well.

I thought I'd rated this beer earlier. It's a fantastic beverage in appearance, aroma, and, most importantly, taste. It's a fantastically hopped brew. I had this not long after first tasting a Basement IPA and fell in love with Scofflaw.
