Appearance - The beer poured a thin black color with a light tan head.

Smell - The bourbon really jumped out in the nose, but vanilla was hard from invisible.

Taste - I would not describe the profile as being hot, but it was definitely boozy. I got notes of vanilla as well as dry chocolate. It was a little like a boozy Oreo cookie, but not overly sweet. There was a warming spice in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Even with low carbonation, this was a bit then for a stout.

Overall - Looking for a vanilla stout, this really hit the spot.

Beautiful dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma was sweet vanilla mixed with bourbon and chocolate. Taste followed. Vanilla dominated the palate but didn’t detract from the barrel or chocolate flavors. Easy drinking for a 10% beer and not boozy. Just excellent.

I feel like a dick. I don't remember who sent this. Beer_Economicus? JBowenGeorgia? Buck89?
A beautiful pour. Deep dark brown, mahogany. Oatmeal head. Almost 2 fingers initially. Fluffy at first. Condenses. Retreats to a respectable cap of active bubbles. Solid retention. Lacing is surprisingly scattered and minimal.
Aroma is glorious. The vanilla (an ingredient that can put me off) is graceful, completely present, yet smooth. It's almost as if it wants to be respected, but then takes pride in its role as the one who carries all other notes on its shoulders. A suave, round, abundant bourbon barrel note nods to brandy barrel, caramel notes, fig, date, caramel, and eventually...vanilla.
The flavor follows punctually. A subtle melange of vanilla and malt begins lushly. It's full and graceful. The barrel notes are sweet and warm, but not hot. I have yet to recall an Imperial stout with vanilla that is so elegantly melded into its totality. Truly a tasty take on this beer. Now, I am intrigued to try the base beer.
Mouthfeel is full enough for style. Carbonation is on the low side, but as a sipper, I'm enjoying as is. Alcohol heat is completely covert. It's warm, but not hot.
Overall, this is a stunning beer. I would not be so presumptuous as to make any recommendations, aside from having it shipped straight to my home.

Very dark appearance with slight tan head that disipates quickly. Aroma is a prominent vanilla. Taste is also a prominant Vanilla without any alcohol aftertaste.

Amazing Stout that comes out jet black with some thin brown lacing that quickly dissipates. Nose is incredible aromas of vanilla with a perfect amount of bourbon. Taste follows the smell with the bourbon taking center stage on the finish. Fantastic mouthfeel that lets the notes of vanilla, marshmallow, and bourbon shine. Overall one of my favorite stouts.

Look: Jet Black...nice lacing in the glass

Smell: off the charts!...Vanilla and bourbon lead the charge..I've never smelled Vanilla like this in a beer before..I can already tell its gonna be amazing...nice hints of oak and chocolate bring up the rear..

Taste..vanilla wafer w/ alcohol!...the perfect example when a vanilla stout is done right...not overpowering a all, but the Vanilla flavor lets you know it's here and ready to rumble..the bourbon plays a perfect sidekick, and complements the vanilla perfectly by balancing out the sweetness

Feel: perfect carbonation for this beer..thick, chewy..HEAVY MAN..HEAVY!

Overall: this is one of the best beers i've had, and probably will try in my lifetime...the demand and hype on this is real, very REAL

I like this better than FO or BA Vanilla Milkshkae. This beer was a surprise, and an amazing surprise at that. The mouthfeel is perfect and the beer is incredibly smooth. This is an amazing beer.

So much vanilla and marshmallow here!!!!! Not quite sure what kind of vanilla beans were used for this but it is sweet and boozy with an almost custard-like aftertaste. Incredible BA vanilla stout.
