Meet Basement's outgoing little brother. A little less business, a lot more party. We add in passionfruit, orange and guava for a big ass tropical kick taking you out of the basement and straight to the islands.

Had it three times before I "felt" the fruit. Very subtle compared to other "fruity"IPAs but that is a good thing. Excellent beer.

Appearance: Hazy light amber. Fluffy white head, good retention.
Aroma: Alcohol mild, oranges and tangerines. Fruity esters.
Flavor: Citrus, spicy, Moderate to aggressive bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, drying. High astringency. Medium finish.
Overall: Cloudy appearance was a detractor. I think my sample may have had a flaw, had a nail polish like aroma initially. Citrus fruit aroma prominent. Medium body and dryness straight through to the finish. Aroma of beer is not that pleasant. Bitterness is overly aggressive and sticky. Has a strange sourness I can't quite finger. Comparing to Three Taverns Passion on Ponce POG, Three Taverns is much better.

Absolutely delicious beer, especially for its high ABV. This is up there with the best sour ales around.

If ever a beer came close to simulating Brownian motion, this was it...
...This had a bunch of yeast floating in it, more than I have ever witnessed - it was actually something to behold and admire. The rest of the beer was just about what I have had as far as IPAs are concerned. One of the better ones, yes, but other than the seminal look this has, it's okay and solid enough.

16 oz can from Georgia with a 5 August 2021 canning date stamped on the bottom. Served in a Tervis at the Fall 2021 Suwannee Roots Revival festival.
This is a lightly hazy orange-amber ale that comes with a good off-white head.
It's quite fruity with significant additions of orange, guava and passion fruit as well as, I would guess, some tropical fruit notes from the hops. Well hidden ABV.

I received 2 cans from @roguer in the NBS BIF #13. Poured from undated can into a pint glass. It pours a hazy, dirty orange color with a full finger of creamy, milk-white head and thick, clinging lacing. On the nose there is orange, lemon, grapefruit, and floral hops. The taste opens with orange/tangerine, along with tart, bitter lemon and grapefruit. The sweeter, tropical fruit emerges as the ale warms a bit in the glass but it's delicate and never challenges the initial tartness. This ale is less piney and bitter than the original Basement but more tangy. It's well-carbonated and the 7.5% ABV gives it a nice pop. Overall, POG Basement is pleasant drinking but I think it lacks the West Coast attitude of the original Basement. Nonetheless, it's thoroughly enjoyable particularly on a hot, sunny day.

Excited to try this variation on Basement, as I am a huge fan of their staple.
Pours a beautiful pale gold with good clarity, a slight chill haze, and a wonderful bright white head that holds its soapy form well and provides lots of sticky lacing. Looks like a piney, sticky West Coast IPA all the way
The wonderful Basement notes I expect — grapefruit, pine, biscuity malt, citrus, juice, stone fruits, grape, pineapple, etc. — are certainly present. But this thing is dominated by a big Capri Sun tropical fruit juice vibe that is hard to get past. Don’t get me wrong, it’s quite lovely and mouth-watering. But I know there are other things there and it’s just hard to get to them. Still, the sweet fruit punch effect is fantastic, and goes nicely with the ruby red grapefruit that finally pushes through. Just not as layered as the original.
Taste follows with grapefruit pith and juicy, malty sweetness balancing out (slightly) the big, tropical juice notes. Nice pithy and semi-sweet finish. I get a lot more grapefruit soda than guava and passion fruit on the tongue versus the nose. That’s not a bad thing. Again, not as interesting and nuanced as Basement, but still lovely.
Nice silky and substantive feel with good teeth coating, but not sticky.
Man, I am digging this beer. Wonderful mix of northeastern, midwestern, and west coast IPAs, with balanced homage to each. This scratches a LOT of itches.
Look and feel are carbon copies of Basement, what’s promised (passion fruit, orange, and guava) is largely delivered, and it’s certainly plenty tasty. But it isn’t as balanced and complete a beer as the original. Having said that, even being in the ballpark is high praise. This is a very good beer in its own right.
