Alright BA friends, I was lucky enough to get some of this on tap still for my growler fill, as they are letting this one run its' course....perhaps to never be enjoyed again, or to make room for Dark Experimental #2?! A 3 to 1 ratio of HB Stout to Ryes Against the Machine, all Bourbon Barrel Aged too!

A- Pours a dark brown cola color, with hints of clarity when looking at it from the underside of the top.....almost a forest soil coloration to be poetic about it. The head is about a half finger in thickness, settles rather quickly and becomes more of a thick ring around the inside of my glass with a medley of ghostly likenesses spreading over the remaining liquid....it is rather white. Carbonation will of course be too hard to tell and the lacing is modest at best, with some foamy patches making attempts to cling to the side of my glass.

S- Subtle bourbon aromas, with smoked wood in the background make up the bulk of the smells found, however, Vanilla infused chocolate, mocha coffee, yeasty biscuit, dark roast chocolate and/or black malts and damp soil are all found as well. The finish is rich, and with a dark chocolaty toffee sweetness that lingers in my nostrils. Very enticing.....

T- Sweet corn Bourbon whisky coats my tongue, alongside more traditional flavors of milk chocolate that, as this warms, become much more pronounced, dry grain from the Rye mash used within the recipe, rounded mocha beverage, bits of licorice, muted smoky char, Earthy molasses and a finish that I would classify as well rounded and lingering.....sticky sweet cooked brown sugar, dry smoke and an ever so slightly cleansing hop bitterness.....TASTY!

M/O- The texture is very creamy....almost buttery! The carbonation is tight.....just a notch above effervescent! Medium-full body and highly drinkable.....a great beer to enjoy with a good friend....especially a growler worth! This would accompany a chocolate or coffee based dessert rather well but will do a good job on its' own as a dessert itself! 6.5% alcohol is well hidden and will catch up with one fast if not careful lol......worth the purchase and I hope to enjoy again down the road!
