750ml bottle of the second edition. The cork rocketed out when the cage came off. The carbonation on this was immense as was the head. Aroma is nice, juicy citrus and It is only mildly sour and it is dry on the finish but not bone dry. Nice geuze for sure.

It pours clear golden with one of the biggest heads I have ever seen in a Gueuze. The aroma is tart, with lemony notes followed by some unripe apples and some funk. The taste is very dry, tart and with a late bitterness that caught me a little bit by surprise. More lemon, citrus rind, grapefruit and a faint roasted sunflower seed note which I have detected more than once in Boon products. Medium body with a decent amount of carbonation.

A fine Geuze with the right balance of finesse and funk, and it’s bone dry. Burnt gold body with very lively streams of carbonation culminating in a clean white head of loose foam that somehow manages to stay thick and healthy looking for the duration of the drink. Typical lambic funk with an emphasis on musty oakiness balanced by earthy hay and lemony tartness. This one leans heavily to the Bretty funk side with pretty minimal lactic sourness. The lambic descriptors get repetitive so I’ll leave it here - not the truly elite of the style, but just a small notch below. I’d still say this is “World Class”. Plenty of depth and complexity to keep a geuze enthusiast happy, yet somehow enough finesse and balance that I wouldn’t hesitate to introduce it to someone completely new to the style.

Blend 2. Consumed 12/2017.

Big pop to the cork. Large white head. Active carbonation. Golden orange color.

Dry and funky with nice grape notes. White wine and champagne like. Lemon citrus. Oaky and musty. Very complex.

Highly carbonated. Bubbly. Dry aftertaste.

Really awesome gueuze. It will be fun to see what happens to this one.

This one pours clear light orange, with huge fluffy head, and lots of lacing. There's lots of little bubbles in this- it looks quite carbonated.

This smells like dry grassy funk, lemon rind, green apple, and chalk.

This is exceedingly carbonated, really champagne like, which makes it one of the lesser Boon gueuzes I've had. This isn't to say it's bad- it's not, at all. It's quite tasty, with a great dryness to it- prickly and rindy, with a sharp grassy funk, and just a hint of old barnyard/basement funk. There's some lemon, pear, and apple skins, too. It's not the bold mouthgasm that the absolute best lambics are. However, it's much easier to get than Cantillon, Tilquin, or 3F, and it's still quite tasty anyway.

This is light bodied, with a very prickly mouthfeel, and a very high level of carbonation.

This is a fun beer for sure- it's not Boon's best, though.
