Had this on tap at the Beer Museum in Bruges.

750ml bottle poured into a tulip
A: Ruby red with a 1/2-finger pink head that settles to a thin lacing
S: Sour cherries with a bit of sweetness and a bit bready
T: Like the nose. Sour cherries initially then a bit of malt, some funk and a cherry jam on bread finish
M: Light-bodied, simultaneously sour and sweet
O: A nice introduction to the style but there's no comparison if you've had New Glarus

A nice respite from a night full of sours and while it is beautiful to look at and the mouthfeel is amazing and round/full the subtle cherry flesh flavors aren't stacking up in turn. It is quite sweet and refreshing at 4% ABV but at the cost of $9 a 12.7oz bottle I'd say tick it off.

Cannot get past the niquil taste. May be better with a few years on it but drinking the 2012 in late 2014 proved pretty disappointing to me. By a different one for a few bucks more would be my advice.

Ruby Brown with a light tan cap that quickly faded into almost nothing. Lacing coats wherever it can, and lingers.

Scent is herbal, medicinal. Strong scent of tart cherries, old dry oak, a little spice and a little funk at the end. Just a touch of sweetness of you inhale deep enough.

Taste is reminiscent of raspberry puree at first. Quickly fading into tart cherreies, orange rind, and the medicinal and herbal characters. Some buttery sweetness I can't quite put my finger on, almost like maple without the ugh maple taste.

Mouthfeel is interesting. At first it reminds me of a fruit soda, but it finishes oily and sour. Dry in the back yet very sweet in the front. I can't make sense of it, but it works.

All in all, I like it, and it was definitely a good bargain. I could drink a beer like this year round.
