375 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2014 vintage bottling. Pours fairly clear deep ruby red/light copper color with a 2 finger dense pink head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sweet/tart/tangy raspberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, plum, cherry, apple, red grape, brown sugar, toasted bread, wood, light hay/funk/pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of raspberries, fruity/earthy yeast, bready malt, and oak notes; with great strength. Taste of big sweet/tart/tangy raspberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, plum, cherry, apple, red grape, brown sugar, toasted bread, wood, light hay/funk/pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate fruit tartness and light yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of raspberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, plum, cherry, apple, red grape, brown sugar, toasted bread, wood, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/earthy yeast, bready malt, and oak flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/grainy/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very nice young fruit lambic. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/earthy yeast, bready malt, and oak flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and easy to drink with the balanced fruit acidity/sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

this beer is awesome, its weird to read some of the critiques here, like only cantillon can make framboise or something, its bogus, the american lambic crowd is a snooty bunch. rarity does not mean quality, and this relatively findable beer is a great one, period. they all have different styles of course, different nuances, and you like what you like, but the pull and push of popular opinion seems to have as much influence on ratings of lambic as the beer itself, bummer. i love this, and i dont care who knows it! a deep pink brew with a soda sort of head to it, an obvious effervescence i love in the style. raspberries both tangy and sugary green the nose and make the palate water with a nice citric pucker as well. perhaps a less developed or mature funk to it, but there appears to be plenty of wood maturation here, and as much fruit as there is wheat, without it ending up particularly sugary. the bacterial sourness is cool, unique to these guys, and the residual sugar of the fruit i reckon balances it just enough. brilliant bubbles really make it dance, and the raspberry flavor is so authentic you almost forget this is a beer and not a fruit wine or something. i disagree with those who claim it lacks depth, i think it has all the elements any of them have, just in a different proportion and order of presentation. count me among the enthusiasts of this one (and their kriek too)!

12 ounce bottle poured into a Unibroue goblet. Persian red body with a full finger of pinkish tan head. Good retention, some filmy lacing.

Aroma is deep black cherry flesh and raspberry seeds. Quite a sweet nose.

Flavor is also sweet. Black cherry yogurt with just-underripe raspberry drupelets. A little acetic acidity sticks to the palate.

Sweet and a bit sticky, good dessert beer. Extremely drinkable, but simple and on the cloying side.

Bottle from Harvest Market
Pours a slightly murky reddish brown color with a decent sized off white heads that dissipates rather quickly. Aromas of raspberry jam, a hint of molasses, and a bit of earthy funk. The flavor Is lightly tart from the fruit with lots of berry flavor. Hints of dark caramelized sugars with a touch of citric tartness and earthy funk. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Decent enough brew, but I felt it could have had more of a pucker factor.

Pours a dark red color with a thick head that recedes with some lacing. Aroma is nice and sweet with an intoxicating, unmistakable strawberry scent. A slight sourness in the nose as well. Taste is very sour though with the strawberry taking a backseat in the mouthfeel. A bit funky as well but that's par the style. Still quite drinkable and not too sweet.

From a 375 ml bottle to a snifter.

A: pours a deep red with a thin head that appears pink in color. The head breaks almost as soon as it appeared.

S: smells of ripening raspberries and other berries. Some funk as well.

T: super-tart raspberries overwhelm the palate. Not much else can get through.

M: medium body and medium/high carbonation. Sour finish is actually quite nice.

O: I found the tartness of this beer to be refreshing at first, but it became a little overwhelming toward the end. I am not sure I'd have this again.

Poured a reddish color with a big pinkish head that dissipated pretty quickly. Aroma was of sweet raspberries. Flavor was also dominated by the taste of raspberries. Has a bit of sourness to it. Mouthfeel is very light, had kind of a wine feel to it. A nice beer that is probably to sweet to have more than one.

hazy light brown with some reddish hues peeking through here and there. pinkish white head that shrinks to a thin coating pretty quikly, and leaves some, but not much, lace. nose is very nice raspberryish with some beer scent that come through just a tad. taste is sweeet, yet balanced very well by the sourness. tastes very real. hard to describe, this is outside of my usual realm. i do know that i've tried a few other lambics before and this is above and beyond the other framboise i've tried. perhaps i'll have to delve into this side of beerdom more often, i really enjoyed this as my dessert tonight.

Nice raspberry bown color with a creamy pink head. The nose has a good amount of fresh tart raspberries, funky manure and musky oak. The taste was tart and sour with some light fruits and funky oak. A crisp body goes down easy. This is a damn fine lambic. Great balance between sweet and sour.

2013 label around the neck. Cork popped out easily and minimal gusher. Pink head. Ruby pink color.

Very weak tasting lambic. Minimal raspberry flavors. Bready malts. Bland cardboard finish.

Light bodied. Bubbly feel.

This one isn't undrinkable, it's just not good. Much better framboise options our there. Makes you really appreciate an LPF.

Bottle. Best by February 16, 2015. Served at around 45F.

Pours clear deep red with a pinkish hued one finger head that recedes to a foamy ring with a very light wispy cap, leaves some lacing behind.

Aroma is raspberries, bread and the slightest hints of funk and vanilla. Pretty much all raspberry on the nose. Very good strength.

Flavor is tart raspberries and that’s about it. Hints of bread and funk...but they’re slight. Pretty much all raspberry on the tongue. Have I mentioned this already? Fairly sweet, but tartness barely wins out (although not really all that sour).

Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Sticky. Low to moderate carbonation.

On a new style run first Framboise and it’s pretty good, but also pretty one-dimensional. Alcoholic tart raspberry juice.
