Light flavoured, surprisingly timid, but the flavours are nice.

i was excited to find this one on tap, but it is nowhere near as complex or high quality to my palate as so many of the other boon beers have been in my experience. this is murky and light copper in color, without much more head than a little thin white bubbling around the edges of the wine glass. it smells woody and a bit sweet, but also kind of muted to me, definitely less sour than others, without the mature funk either, and smells more young than old to me, although there is just a little oxidation to it, some red apple, sherry, and some sweet maltiness that i wasnt anticipating. the flavor is about the same, less complex than any of their others, way less sour, barely even tart here, some thin funkiness, but lots of malt and some wood as well, apple candy, not as dry as it could be, and again tasting more young than old to me. overall this might be better in a blend of some kind with some sourer beer than it is on its own, not that it isnt interesting and good, but just that its nowhere near the level of lambic complexity and quality that i have grown to love in their beer. interesting to have a glass of, but this is one of the weaker of their offerings, at least in my opinion. more bubbles would help this, a little more tartness too, good but not great in my experience here...

Clear orange tinged golden body with scant white bubbles.

Dirty musty funk with apple and melon fruitiness with a citric edge.

Citrus fruit acidity. Funk even gets a little old cheesy in the aftertaste.

Flat and dry.

I really dig this. Not a big Boon fan but this was great. I feel like their gueuzes could be better based on this sample of lambic.

Pours a rich golden with a tight white head that lingers but leaves little lacing
Nose is oaky and acidic. Not a lot of depth and not especially aromatic
Taste follows the nose with a sharp acidity that carries the oakiness well. Some sweetness that reminds me of cherry and dark ripe apples. Disappointingly shallow flavor
Mouth feel is thin and crispy with a heavy dose of carbonation.
Overall it's a bit underwhelming. Lacking the depth of flavor behind the up front acidity that marks the best lambic. Not offensive but just a little one dimensional

On tap, 2y old lambic. Clear dark golden color with just a few bubbles. Aroma has nice yeast funk, cellar notes, damp wood. Taste is quite bitter, funky, moldy, woody, earthy. Light body, medium plus carbonation. Really rustic lambic with lots of farmhouse and barnyard character.
