Picked this one up at the bottle shop on my street.

From a bottle into a Leffe Chalice.

APPEARANCE: Pours a 2 finger medium-thick white head with decent retention. Lots of carbonation evident. Colour is a nice amber or golden poppy yellow / orange colour. Head settles to a decent thick cap and leaves lots of nice lacing down the glass. Good looking for sure.

SMELL: A strong cool nose of toasted and wheat malt. Spicy elements as well, cloves for sure and perhaps some coriander. A bit of citrus in the back. Reminds me of a milder weizenbock nose. Enticing.

TASTE: Toasted and wheat malt with some clove and coriander again, much like the nose. A touch of spicy alcohol there as well. A slightly bitter hop and sweet malt finish. Aftertaste is too short lived, but pleasant for sure. Again, slightly weizenbock like. Enjoyable.

PALATE: Full body with medium carbonation. Thick and heavy on the palate, goes down creamy smooth with a slight bite at the end to remind you it's a triple. Finishes slightly dry on the palate. Good feel.

OVERALL: One of the better triples I've had. An enjoyable and drinkable treat, this one is perhaps overlooked somewhat because it's so readily available here in Holland. Reminds me somewhat of a weizenbock as well. This is one I'll certainly pick up again when I'm in the mood for something with a punch.

Very good flavor with a very good head that lasts. It had a very nice color and is very drinkable. You can certainly tell it is an alcoholic beverage as it is apparent in the smell and the taste. That said, it is a quite good brew That I look forward to enjoying again.

Body is a light orange with a an almost perfect white head.
Yeasty, buttery aroma. Taste is similar yeasty ester, little spice and quiet buttery.
Little dryness, medium finish that doesn't hang around long. Not much alcohol warmth coming through for 8.5%. Pretty average overall.
