This tripel smells and tastes like a mixture of witbier and Leffe blond. Nice smell of cloves due to the usage of wheat. The coriander and orange peels give this beer the typical witbier taste, while still remaining its tripel character. It lacks the complexity I'd expect of a tripel though and the alcohol tends to dominate the closer you get to the bottom of your glass. The dull sweet malt taste of the blond Leffe is also quite prominent in their tripel. While the taste is all in all pretty disappointing, the smooth mouth feel is top notch though. A decent tripel, but then again, the tripel category has some excellent competitors.

Nice yellow golden colour, good foam, I like the Aroma: fruity, fresh, like pear and green banana. Good warming and sweetening taste. creamy, and straight Body. nice.

Leffe Tripel pours a fantastic dark copper color, blanketed by a 1/4" head as white as snow. There's some carbonation and haziness due to sediment. I found the aroma to be lively and bright, consisting mostly of fruit esters. Apple, pear, plum, and banana were all detectable along with a ice phenolic quality as well. It's flavor is candied, yet bready, with a tart and crisp finish. Lots of white pepper spiciness throughout. The body and feel are both just right - moderately heavy, without reminding the drinker of the fairly high ABV. This Tripel from Leffe stacks up fairly well to other Tripels, and I quite prefer this to their pale.

Appearance – Cloudy like the dregs of a Duvel with a decent head that although not long lasting leaves good lacing.

Smell – This one has a sweeter nose than the brun but not as sweet as the blond.

Taste – A light hint of caramel hits you on the first nip but becomes less and less obvious with each sip. The malt becomes more obvious with each mouthful as does a taste of sugar which is nice in its own way but to be honest I could not drink a lot of this one, purely because it seems to get sweeter and stronger with each mouthful, to some that is a good thing but not entirely to my own pallet, But probably representative of the style.

Mouthfeel – Medium body but still a little thinner in the mouth than I expected.

Overall – I guess my taste comments say it all. This is a decent brew and more than passable, if you like the style then this beer will undoubtedly please you but probably not excite you.
