Tan brown body, off white head. Smell of light chocolate banana bread. taste some pepper spices, sweet with a little caramel. Mostly malt and light cHocolate banana bread. Hint of hop bite on tail, but without after taste.

Really solid, brown, sweet and tasty beer. A pretty solid baseline for anyone trying out new things or just a beginner's beer.

Look: A dark brown beer with a billowing three finger, khaki head of foam that laces the glass well.

Aroma: A melange of dark fruits and yeast. Predominantly on the nose there are notes of soft banana, gentle clove, bubblegum and caraway seed complemented by a backdrop of chocolate roasted malt, plums and red figs.

Taste: Upfront, a lightly toasted chocolate malt bill imparts some dry, bittersweet flavors that ultimately coalesce into a blend of fleshy, dark red fruits like dates, sugarplums, tamarind and raisins. These flavors linger throughout but on the finish there is some spicy yeast driven character reminiscent mainly of caraway, anise and fennel along with subdued yet pertinent undertones of clove, bubblegum and sweet banana as it warms.

Feel: Mouth feel is average in body with a decent weight to it, that's neither too thin or too thick. Moderately carbonated with a delicate yet thirst quenching effervescence.

Overall: What's not to like about Leffe Brune? You can find it nearly everywhere and it's rather inexpensive for people who are conscious of their budget. Aside from that, the flavor of the beer is delicious with big chocolate driven notes of fruit and yeast, and a luxuriously silky yet thirst quenching mouth feel. The only problem I can see some people having with this beer is that it can be rather sweet at times. One of the best budget friendly Belgian Dark Ales.

Rating: [A-] Excellent. 4.02/5.

Lean brown: what a sugar bomb even according to belse double measurements, you smack all the carmelized sugars with a slightly wrinkled edge, also taste the caramel sugars the upper tone is the cruelty of the yeast and the cheaply burned malt

Sweet dark ale with a roasted malt finish and a burnt malt / slight hop bite. So sweet it is on the verge of syrupy, but not quite. The ABV is reasonable for this style.

The date on the back label states: "15/04/18 49 13:31"

Appearance: The body is a very dark brown color with deep ruby reds as light passes through. The head is very large and rocky with a light tan color. It has great retention and lacing. It looks absolutely perfect.

Aroma: I am getting a light bit of a smokey aroma.

Taste: It starts out with a nice sweet caramel flavor that has a smokey, woody quality about it. There is a bit of brown sugar and sweet malt flavor. All of the flavors are very light and although it is a sweet tasting beer it never feels syrupy or heavy.

Mouthfeel: It feels on the lighter side of medium in the mouth with a very airy feel. It is effortlessly easy to drink this beer and it goes quickly.

Overall: It is a nice, light feeling, sweet beer that has just a touch of smoke to balance out the sweetness. It is very enjoyable and I would both buy it again and recommend it. It would make a good dessert beer for those who are looking for something that is sweet but not heavy.

From the bottle, it pours a clear brown with a nice head, slowly reducing to a thin layer. Lacing as you enjoy it. Some malt in the nose. The mouth gets toasted malt, clove and fruit. Nice!
