33 cl bottle, chilled, poured into a taster’s snifter in Toulouse, France. Best by 3/25/25. 9%.
Generous foam above pure copper colored brew, slow recession. Decent lacing.
Aroma is clove, vanilla, banana, with hops making a lively appearance.
Taste is spicy, fine bitterness, well balanced, countered with a touch of sweetness. The finish is loooong and residual spice lingers until the next sip.
Feel is medium, and it’s properly carbonated.
Overall, Fine European Strong Ale.,.

330 ml bottle, from Det Bette Ølhus, Aalbæk. ABV is 9.0%. Clear deep golden colour, large white head. Strong sweetish aroma of Belgian ale yeast, white kandij sugar syrup and alcohol. The flavour is moderately sweet (but not as sweet as the aroma made me fear) with spicy notes, also white kandij sugar and herbal hops, the alcohol is evident.

Had Rituel 9° in Nov. 2019 poured from 25-cl. bottle, label stamped À consommer de préférence avant le: “12/03/21,” into red wine glass.
A beautiful copper-gold beer, with a nice creamy head, which lasts and pulls thick rings of lace down the glass. Aroma of spices and sweet malt, and same for flavor, with a drying finish.

InBev Belgium sprouts “Leffe Rituel 9˚”
33 cl brown glass bottle, “À consommer de préférence avant le 27/11/20 43 23:53”
€1,80 @ PAM Panorama S.p.A., Pisa, IT
Notes via stream of consciousness: The label states that it’s a strong blonde bier but it’s really a deep amber-orange in color. It’s crystal clear beneath a two inch head of rocky off-white foam, and you can see hundreds of fine bubbles steadily streaming upwards. The aroma expresses sweetish, caramel is malt and some gently spicy and softly fruity Belgian yeast phenols. The flavor follows with some deviation: there’s some banana and apple, a bit of honey, some golden raisin, a light toastiness, some mild nuttiness, something (I guess phenols) almost smoky, and a spritz of alcohol. The head has held remarkably so far and it’s still a quarter of an inch thick or more. Rings of solid lace complete the appearance. In the mouth it’s medium-full to full in body and creamy-smooth once the initial effervescent zestiness from the carbonation passes. I’m quite impressed with this for its quality and richness although it could use a little more complexity. Complexity, however, isn’t really a Leffe kind of thing as all of their beers seem to follow that pattern - and that’s OK, this reminds me in a way of Kwak, and it may be even more complex than that (I’ll have to hunt one down and try it again to see). I’m personally drinking this for breakfast right now as the sun rises over the Tuscan countryside (7:30 AM here in the Colle de Valle D’Elsa) but I can easily imagine pairing this with some slightly bitter semi-soft cheese and a few slices of prosciutto or panini, or even pizza, pasta with red sauce, or a grilled steak.

L- Unusual for such a beer it's not bottle-conditioned and crystal clear, mid chestnut brown. Pours with 5mm fine just off-white head. Holds well.
S- Notably smokey, unusual in a Leffe and similar beer.
T- Pungent taste, deep charred timber and smoke. The palate adapts and now very deep roasted fruits are coming through with a background broad richness with sweet notes (serve well chilled, at least to start from).
F- Rich, deep, smokey fruit notes.
O- The dinky 250ml bottle, and flavour profile, almost invites this to be drunk from a brandy glass. Unusual points for the style are that it's really pretty rich, and the smokey notes. The latter might divide opinion. Interesting to try, but perhaps a bit too sweet for me to buy again.
Bought from Beerhawk UK, short-date though BB: 15/12/19 [ps. This was written/scored before reading any other reviews below, which I will now enjoy (even more!) doing.
Having read other reviews now, and near the bottom of the glass, yes by the end the sweetness is rather tired and unecessary. Serve well chilled!

Sixer as a gift. Quick review.
Look - Slightly murked golden with a half finger of white head. Low carbonation.
Smell - Lotsa bread with a touch of banana. Light sulphur with an obvious alcohol twang.
Taste - Slightly oxidized, spicy and bready with a touch of banana and some quite apparent alcohol.
Feel - Again, spicy on the body and moderately alcoholic with all the flavors retaining. Swallows a touch flat and adds an apple flavor.
Overall - It's a pretty solid and easy to find Belgian brew. Not the best around but it would perform well in a pinch, especially at the ABV.
