Surprisingly this one turned out to be my favourite Leffe so far.
Pours out with an amber/redish color and a very hefty white head. There's lots of carbonation also.
The aroma is hoppy and there's also a slight aroma of alcohol, but all in the limits of gentleness.
The taste is decently hoppy, slightly fruity sweet with some alcohol. The finish is bittery and comes with a slight spicy kick, which is nice.

On tap at Cafe Leffe in Lille. Served in a 25 cl Leffe Chalice.

Appearance: Clear amber, rocky light tan head, thin strands of lacing on the glass.

Smell: Metallic, a little musty, with some underlying caramel sweetness every now and then.

Taste: Malty, tiny bit boozy, mild bitter finish. Some fruity esters throughout.

Mouthfeel: Nicely thick, sticky - just right carbonation.

Overall / Drinkability: Not bad - I think it would be better with food. I had already eaten so I had this with friends and discussion. One was enough. A little bit too mild in flavor - there are better Belgian strong pale ales out there. With this much ABV - you want some more flavor and taste to back up the alcohol and the higher cost per glass.

A: light amber or dark gold in color poured a 2 finger width head collapsing to a thin film in about 30 seconds but leaving good lacing on the glass.
S: as with the style banana and raw sugar are prominent but a faint scent of raspberry mixes in to make the beer very tempting to sip deep.
T: sip deep indeed. Of course banana and sugar are the main characters. But the alcohol content brings out these flavors even more while adding a punch in the mouth.
M/D: the alcohol content distracts you from the smooth and medium body but as stated above brings out the flavors. Overall a great beer to add to your rotation if you light Belgian beers.
