Pours a clear copper brown color with a medium top off white head that dissolves slowly and leaves some sticky lacings on the glass . Aroma is caramel, cake, vanilla and spices. The taste is sweet with some caramel and bread notes in the background. It also has a good amount of spices in the flavour. The finish is rather flat and watery, but i sense some slight bitterness.
Mouthfeel is soft and smooth, but kind of watery. Medium carbonation with a medium thin body.
Is good and drinkable, but not more than that.

L- Zero sediment to worry about, it's filterered. Pours crystal clear, deep chestnut brown, with a 3mm very pale tan head.
S- It has quite a complex and deep aroma to it, but I've winter congestion and can't pin down the elements within it.
T- The aroma carries over into the taste, some spices and fruit.
F- It's pretty rich; the 6.6% just about manages to balance it, lower and it might be outright sweet (almost adjunct-sweet). Carbonation in the mouth remains good.
O- Heading towards the sweeter end of the scale of Belgian monastic beers IMO, rather unexpected/unwelcome, so wouldn't buy again. I'd waaay prefer to be drinking one of their Tripel's right now than this, like chalk and cheese.
ps. Nearing the bottom of the glass the beer has warmed somewhat, and now for the first time I clearly ID coriander in this...

Interesting to see so few reviews for this beer which comes from a pretty major brewer of quality monastic Belgian beers. Then again there seem to be 3-4 of their brews they export worldwide and the others hardly at all.
Bought from Beerhawk/UK. 330ml bottle BB: 17/09/20

Catch up rating from notes, 2012: 375 cl Bottle from Cora. Dark brown pour, light cloudiness, small but thick cap of head. Aroma comes in with a bit of winter spices, clove. Taste also goes with the now all-too-common "winter" spices, with some sweet malts and Belgian yeast thrown in for good measure. Bitter and dry finish.
