6 pack for $12.50 at Calgary Co-op, Poured into a Guinness glass...

Look: Jet Black. Some foam. No lace.

Smell: Espresso

Taste: Espresso. Strong. Bitter. Subtle towards to end.

Feel. Medium-bodied, doesn't have the creamy feel of other popular stout. Refreshing. Not a hint of chemical.

Overall: It is not as refined as those from Deschutes and Dieu du Ciel. But It is a very honest beer. You want an espresso? Have an espresso. The name even tells you this is a straight forward espresso. 6 pack for $12.50 keeps me coming back.

I've always been a big fan of Yukon brewing's products, and this one has been sitting in my fridge for a while, so I ought to finally get it over with.

It has that great black colour of any stout, albeit with not much head. Very smooth sipping with extremely mild carbonation, but quite big on aroma. You know that smell when you fill a coffee filter with fresh coffee? That's what this smells like, although obviously a little colder.

The espresso really comes out in the taste along with a sweet malty backing. The body is nice and creamy like most other stouts, but lacking a little something. My favourite stouts have a deeper flavour than what is present here, and have a bit of a heavier body. Nevertheless, this is a good specimen.

Free beer from a beer buddy who went to Yukon Brewing company.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin white to off white foamy head that dissipated and left some light lacing sticking and then sliding down into the beer.
The smell had a huge amount of espresso over some nice cocoa flavors.
The taste was balanced nicely between the espresso and the cocoa, roasty and sweet.
The mouthfeel was slightly sharp but not intruding. There's a nice bittersweet roastiness strolling over my palate.
Overall, wow, this was a really nice espresso stout that I could definitely do again.

This is a beer that starts strong, but finishes subtle. The espresso and chocolate dance all around your senses to begin with. Eventually, however, this goes down like a strong coffee should - you're not sure if you need it, but somehow, you REALLY want it.

Poured from bottle. Great aroma of coffee and chocolate. Pours black with minimal tan head. Medium bitter taste. Full bodied, creamy texture, with soft carbonation. Overall an excellent stout that is just bitter enough, well balanced.
