This beer started out as a growler fave with our customers – after years of requests, we finally bottled it, and added it to our full-time line up!
A common myth is that dark beers pose a strong flavour challenge. But, dark is not a flavour, and Bonanza Brown will prove that to you. Rich and malty, with hints of chocolate and a bit of a nuttiness in the taste, it is a satisfying combination of sturdy body and smooth drinkability.

A clear reddish brown with a few bubbles but just a very short thin film for a head that leaves no lace, looks pretty basic
S brown sugar and some faint molasses with some herbal tea and cola, there's some coco and caramel in there with leafy hops
T mimics the smell fairly well, herbal earthy notes with sweet malts, slight nutty aspect and the brown sugars a little burnt
M fairly light but it adds to the drinkability, the bubbles work well giving it almost a creamy feel and some almond on the finish
O looks pretty basic but pretty solid otherwise, I'm not saying the Earths going to move for ya but shes a respectable brown
I think I just wanted a reason to revisit Midnight Sun and Lead Dog and the new sample 6er from Yukon gave me the chance. Sleek black 6er just looks bad ass, no regrets buying this one

Clear dark orange-brown color. Poured a short tan head that collapsed to a thin skiff in half a minute. Too dark to be able to see the carbonation level. Left no lacing.
Very distinct grain husk scent with a mild malt. Mild coffee/chocolate and caramel, but not sweet. Swirling the glass kicked up a very light barnyard for just a couple of seconds and a light minty fresh scent.
Medium roasted malt flavor with some chocolate. Tastes slightly sweeter than it smells. Some mild fruity hops with just a hint of bitters. The aftertaste is much the same, except the grain husk flavor shows up for a few seconds.
Very light tongue tingling as it slowly foams up. Doesn't quite achieve a creamy consistency, but remains slightly coarser. Medium body.
Very clean and simple flavors. This would be a good entry for people who are stuck on big beer lagers.

The color is a very dark brown, with a good cream color head, with good retention. Aromas of caramel, some honey and some hops aromas.
Taste is quite sweet with a hint of bitterness but that dissappear rapidly. So notes of milk chocolat and caramel, along with some slightly toasted nuts.
This beer is definitely more on the sweet side rather that on the toasted side of a brown ale. It's a good beer, but I'd love it with more body and more toastiness.

This showed a nice looking hazy brown color with a slight transparency about it. The smell carried a decent nutty to caramel maltiness about it that carried over into the taste. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly good sessionability about it. I would say that this had a pretty good smooth almost creamy milkiness about it. Overall, this was a pretty good brown ale that I would have again.

341ml bottle poured into tulip.
Pours a dark cola brown with half a finger of tan head that leaves snowy outcrop lace as it recedes.
Smells of pumpernickel, semi-sweet cocoa powder, creamy coffee, brown sugar and soft leafy hops.
Tastes of more dark bread, faint sugared raisin, cold coffee, mild chocolatey notes and more subdued hop bitterness.
Feels soft and smooth. Medium bodied with gentle carbonation. Finishes dry.
Verdict: Recommended. A sturdy brown ale that's easy to drink.

This is a pleasant and straight forward brown ale. This is as close to Newcastle Brown as you can get. Like most Yukon brews, it pours with minimal head and steady carbonation. The mouthfeel is pleasant, with a bit of caramel malt and nuttiness. This is drinkable and definitely sessionable, but not necessarily memorable.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a dark mahogany brown with a thin light brown head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of bready and light caramel malt, brown bread, nuts, hint of vanilla. Flavor follows aroma with light caramel malt, nuts, brown bread. Light to medium bodied. A nice light brown ale, resembling an English brown. Flavors are a bit attenuated but pleasant, also similar to an English style ale. Hoping for a bit more flavor intensity, but a good light session brown ale as is.
