Rainier beer brings together nature’s bounty from the great Northwest. Pure spring waters combine with golden barley and verdant hops to produce a beer rich in taste and texture. Fermented slowly with a pedigree yeast culture under tightly controlled conditions, Rainier comes forth with a satisfying malty flavor over a slightly fruity background, spiced with Chinook, Mt. Hood, and Willamette hop notes.

Appearance Light yellow in color with a JB head.
Smell The grain and cheap sweetness are there, as I suspected, but theres something else in this can. Its not skunk. Its something more sinister. Whatever it is, it is big. This aroma lit up half my house. I think the best way to describe it is straight horse sweat. If youve every smelled a horse after he/she has had a good workout, this was it.
Taste The grainy horse gallops out in the taste as well. Theres a hint of orange sweetness here, as is Pabst tradition, but its kind of hard to enjoy when youre licking horse hair out of your rice.
Mouthfeel The cheap carbonation was annoying. The word light doesnt even begin to describe how close to water this felt in the mouth.
Drinkability I could probably use this as a chaser after beer-bonging a case of HOTDs, but other than that its not fit for consumption.

It's light in color the head dissipates quickly no strong smell flavor notes leave a weirdly sweet aftertaste which I got tired of pretty quickly it's beer but there's way better even in this same category I ended up using the remaining of my purchase to cook beer brawtz since I got tired of drinking this stuff sat in my garage for a while before deciding to make beer brawtz with it

(shaker pint pour at Moxy Downtown in Seattle... review copied and expanded upon from notes taken)
basic AAL... clear liquid, head paucity... corn tainted and bubble gum-pecked... dry, sandy aftertaste, even a touch of suntain lotion; grainy burps galore... an expensive draft ($8) at a hip-looking hotel; never got around to trying a can (2255)

Best by 12/18/2023; consumed on 1/25/2024
Pours a crystal-clear honey-gold body capped with multiple fingers of soapy, eggshell-white foam; great head retention leaves a slight cap, moderate, sudsy collar, and expansive array of chunky lacing surrounding the walls of the glass.
Aroma features a hint of fresh bread into overarching corn developing over the bouquet, with balanced grain accenting a mineralic undertone over time.
Taste offers a protruding minerality into mild biscuit, trending somewhat grassy over the mid-palate as corn kernel contrasts meet an overarching florality into the back end.
Mouthfeel shows a light body and a bold puff of airy, full carbonation, while a taut, semi-dry texturing through the mid-palate build to a crisp finish.
Clean, accessible, and refreshing; a prime example of a finer-tuned American Adjunct Lager, eschewing the more common metallic edges for a clearer grain profile.

I would gladly take this over the big three any day. Not as sweet as the others and it has a tad bit more going on with regards to feel. Really cool that I was able to get a hold of this. I truly think most people would prefer the lesser known adjuncts over the usual big three swill you find at the super market. Blatz, Schlitz, Old Style, Strohs, Rainier, Olympia, Old Milwuakee, and Old Grain deserve more shelf space and distribution imo. Theyre just cool man.

30 pack at Winco is under $17 out the door best priced beer period. Better than Miller Lite and all the rest. Don't have to many in a row.

Once again, I ended up at Bar N9ne in Port Angeles, Washington and given that I’m in the Evergreen State, toured Laura Palmer’s house the other day and am going to the All-Star Game in Seattle tomorrow, this was a fitting choice for tonight.
Surprisingly, I enjoyed this although it was an AAL. Golden, clear, and foamy, there was quite a bit of lacing left behind in the middle of my pint glass as the suds took a while to fully settle. Grass, grain, and cracker were in the nose and more present in the taste as they gave way to subtle bitter, burning, and slick hops in the back with a bit of bread and white chocolate to round things out. Nice body thanks to the barley as this easily enjoyable and better than I expected.
Booze? It’s here somewhere but a ton of these would need to be crushed in order to feel it. The date on the bottom of the can was Oct 9 of this year, as it was refreshing to see a “drink by” date for a beer of this style. Indeed, this was much better than other examples of the style that I’ve had, as I’d easily reach for this again the next time I come out this way!

Poured into a pint glass
A: straw color and a big foamy white head. Holds on forever.
S: slightly sewery hops and strong grainy backbone. Hops are not strongly present.
T: banana esters in yeast. Strong grain presence
M: slick grain induced palate yields to light chalkiness and minimal dryness.
O: I like it for an unfussy AAL. Only get it when I end up out west.... And only buy a sixer of pounders when I find it. It scratches an itch.

This is copied fromm my untapped review, with some edits. I had never had this before my Montana vacation. I will also say that for what it is, it is good. I will be getting more when I head out west next year. I gave it a 3.25 rating.
Clear golden pour with a white head.
slight biscuit nose.
Slightly skunky up front, but the back goes to a malty biscuit flavor. There's hints of banana.
Light body.
Good for what it is.
