Final stop on my short BNSF trip (gonna haveta do another one to get some other stragglers ticked off the map), and, like the others, is right there next to the train station. Gotta love it. Place has a modern-meets-punky vibe to it, standard tables and bar, punk-ish music overhead, and the screens were playing Hannibal and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Right on. Surprising bit of variety on the range, including a CA common, a weizenbock, a coffee stout, and somehow only a pair of IPAs. Can't get too mad there. The common was solid, the w-bock a bit more so; neither really wowed me, but they were both tasty enough for me not to care. The bartender was friendly and into things, even ensuring I was familiar with the CA common style before pouring me my pint (I assume some complaints have preceded me). Didn't try any food, so no comment. Pricing was pretty good for the area, a heartening theme on this trip. Overall, I can easily see myself coming back with my drinking buddies at some point soon (especially if they enjoy the common from the crowler I got for them).

Three years and no reviews? For a newer brewery, i'm surprised.

Small spot, right across from the Metra and freight train tracks, with a full view of the train cars going by, which may appeal to trainspotters and graffiti enthusiasts. Inside it's cozy, with a dozen or so tables and bar seating for about a dozen. Brick oven in back, wood-fired pizzas looked very tasty passing by. Beers were listed on wood planks above the bar, between a pair of flatscreens playing Parks & Rec and The Dark Knight with captions on. The Clash and other punk rock on the stereo.

Service at the bar was good, helpful with questions but not chatty really.

Beer selection was varied and the quality was pretty good. I sampled the Mexican lager, "Scotch Oak" Wee Heavy, Tamarind sour ale, and coffee stout. The wee heavy stood out as a highlight. I asked if it was barrel aged but they just read off the menu, which said "Scotch Oak". I'm guessing they used Scotch soaked oak chips, but it was distinctive.

Overall this was a nice little brewery to check out, it was near my destination (Burger Antics) and didn't disappoint.
