P: Dark brown with amber highlights and a dense creamy crown of cappuccino head that hangs around for a good while.

S: Roasted dark malts, grapefruit, stale grains, tree sap, herbs, packing peanuts, dusty wood furniture and timid lemon.

T/M: Sweet and bitter citrus, orange oil, grapefruit, lemon zest, grain alcohol, smoldered dark malt, sour dough yeast, and herbal hops toward the end. Carbonation is numbing and the feel is medium almost chewy. Finish is dry with hints of coffee and lingering herbal and earthy hops. Medicinal taste comes up as it warms.

O: This is nice and roasty, earthy, and bursting with herbs and citrus. Complex, crisp and easy drinking. The original OPA was good but I prefer this one due to the layers of flavors. Ill been grabbing more of this soon. Cheers!

12oz bottle served in a Sam Adams perfect pint glass.

A - Pours almost completely opaque with dark brown edges. The head is light tan and thick with good retention and forms deep craters. Some sticky lacing left around the upper portion of the glass.

S - Roasted charred malts, roasted coffee beans, heavily hopped aroma, pine needles, grapefruit oils, notes of yeasty bread and caramel come out as it warms.

T - Matches the nose with roast upfront but there's a very balanced sweetness to go along with it. A mix of pine, grapefruit pith, and a grassy herbs. The finish has some aspirin bitterness to it.

M - Cola-like carbonation but smoother. Heavy side of medium but the carbonation lifts it making it lighter.

I might have been really thirsty but this went down quick. Has a good balance of roast, bitter, and sweet. Solid all around and comes in a 6 pack which is always a plus.

firmPours a chestnut-tinged mahogany with 2+fingers of tan head. Very good head retention & lacing

S: Herbal hop notes, carob & dark fruit

T: Charred grain, woody & herbal hops, plus dryness up front. More charred grain & bit of black currant as this warms, some orange peel & pineyness devolp as well. Finishes piney with herbal notes, charred grain & dryness

MF: Medium bodied, firm carbonation, good balance

Pretty drinkable, a good take on the style. Nice to seem something a bit more hop-forwadr from these guys
