Nice place with good selection of wine, imported and craft beers and cigars.
Staff are really friendly and knowledgeable.
Beer sampling every week, with good mix of craft brews. 32 and 64 oz growlers filled, reasonably priced.
Solid place, great location.
I enjoy visiting and chatting with the staff and local patrons.

Go elsewhere IMO.

I just a get a weird vibe every time I go to this place. I ask what's new (beer wise) and get little or no response and also I like to ask if something will be coming and just get a one word answer YES/NO. If you are into wine then they will give you tons attention I feel.

If you are in the area there are plenty of other options nowadays.

happened upon this place while searching for Rick's Wine (which, as I found, is on Duke Street, not King)

quality: Most all beers were refrigerated, though some were shelved. I checked a couple dates, and they were within limits.

service: didn't really request any, but at least I was asked

selection: Pretty respectable selection, maybe 30-40 beers, but nothing spectacular, especially in terms of rarity. New England cans were available, as were cans of Ten Fidy. They also carried some limited Stone beers and Troegs Nugget Nectar.

The name sums up their emphasis.

In the back of a nice, clean store, past the floor to ceiling wine displays is a small, 4 doored refrigerated section. About 3 of which are dedicated to beer. Nothing spectacular or that you cannot find elsewhere: Sierra Nevada, Magic Hat, Sam Adams, Avery, Stone and a few others. They also had a smattering of Belgian, German, and English selections. They also have a shelf outside the refrigerated section with additional selections. The stock looked fresh and cared for.

Prices are about the same as elsewhere in the area. Not a destination store, as there are others within a few miles. However, if you find yourself in this part of Alexandria, their selection is much better than the supermarket next door.

They also have cigars, cheeses, and gourmet meats.

A lot can change in a year, I guess. The website lists over 200 hundred beers. False claim as this place had probably around 50, if that. What they had wasn't anything I can't get at places with better selection. The whole store appeared to be lacking in inventory both beer and wine-wise, so perhaps they were out of stock. Somehow, I doubt it since over a third of their shelves were completely devoid of product. Will this place be going out of business soon?

Either way, I've seen better from mom-and-pop stores like this in both beer and wine selections. Save your $$ and go to Rick's, located about 3 minutes away. You'll get more selection in beer, wine, and gourmet deli stuffs.
