Vibe - more restaurant than taproom with an expansive menu (we came on a weekend for brunch). Nice look and feel with a small bar and sitting area downstairs, a small lower level patio and a bar upstairs that leads to a cozy upper deck outdoor patio!
Quality - creative beer and food selection, but outcome is ultimately a disappointment.
Service - took a while to get waited on, but staff was helpful and courteous.
Selection- a varied selection of 12 beers that were both traditional and off the grid. The 4 samples (IPA’s, APA, and saison) were decent.
Food - they get a little too cute with their food and the overall quality takes the hit. You’re a craft brewery that serves food, focus on the beer and play it simple with the food.
Overall - the location near Mile High is a plus, but confusing yourself as more of an eatery than a craft brew house is holding them back.

V-Briar Common is located near Downtown Denver in Jefferson Park. The space and feel are decidedly more upscale than most breweries or brewpubs around town, which is nice. Downstairs is almost cozy with smaller bar and a few tables, but the upstairs rooftop patio is pretty amazing. It feels more like a well-done restaurant than a brewpub. The place was pretty quiet when we visited around 8 pm on a nice Tuesday evening.

Q-I did not see any guest taps and the Briar Common beers I tried, a saison, an IPA and a dubbel, were merely ok. The saison was probably my favorite of the bunch, but each beer had some flaws, e.g., an odd, bitter yeast note.

Ser-Our waiter was friendly enough, and he could discuss characteristics of the beers, but he was a little spaced out. It was not a huge issue, but he messed up our order, which resulted in slow delivery of the first course and delivery of the second course too quickly.

F-The food menu is upscale like the decor and priced to match. The pretzels were ok, not great, but the main dishes were pretty good. I had ceviche, and it wasn't amazing, but it was good food for a brewpub. My friend's pasta was also solid.

O-I definitely enjoyed the higher-end vibe of this place. The beers could use some tweaking and the food is priced on the high side, but I would come back because it is a nice departure from the typical brewery/brewpub.

maybe went here when they were a little too new still, its only been a month or so, and there are obviously still some kinks being worked out. the space is amazing, with a upscale vibe downstairs, neat building with a cool dining room feel. upstairs is a little more mellow, with a bar and some high tops, maybe a little more intimate but also a little more casual. on paper, this looks amazing, and they obviously got a good photographer for their website images, but the picture they paint is a step or two above the reality right now in both food and beer. the beers wasnt at all bad, just a little safer than it presents itself as being. the saison wasnt bad, the pale was nice, and i think there is some real promise here. the food was maybe even a half step behind that, nice on paper for sure, but the scallops were a little fishy, the homemade pasta a bit gunky, and the tartare grey instead of red. none of it was bad at all, and i appreciate it being ambitious and nicer than almost any other brewery in theory, but the execution has some catching up to do for sure. the service was awesome, our glasses never got empty, and the overall experience was a good one. i will wait awhile before returning, but they are definitely on my radar now. cool spot worth checking out for the atmosphere alone. beer and food on the way it seems.
