Poured from a 16 oz can into a Duvel tulip. 01/16/18 #craftsublime on bottom of can.

A: Slightly hazy tangerine with 1-finger of foamy off-white head with average retention and lacing.

S: Very classic aroma of grapefruit, lemon-lime, and guava with softer pine and melon hop notes. Mildly crackery malt base.

T: Great flavor profile, reminds me of a less-sledgehammery version of Enjoy By. Bright tangerine, grapefruit, and lighter peach and apricot notes with more leafy, tea like hop qualities in the finish. Maltiness is substantial but mainly provides a crackery, slightly sweet counterpoint to the hopping. Bitterness is medium at most - kind of a hybrid West Coast-NE IPA. Delicious.

M: Light and mellow with drinkable body and medium carbonation and a dry slightly tacky finish.

O: Another winner for Basic City - the one that started it all for them. All of their DIPA beers have the same ABV so I wonder if the are doing their own luponic distortion with the same malt bill and different hop combos. Enjoyable and well-crafted beer. Look for it.

L: Had this beer on-tap at Bräuburgers, poured into a pint glass. Had an orange-yellow color and a cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Very good lacing.

S: A sweet and enticing aroma of hops, citrus and tropical fruit, malt, and pine.

T: Tasted of mild bit of pine (a little in the finish), a good shot of hops (not overdone, though), some citrus (orange), a little malt (barely present), and some tropical fruit (pineapple, mango). If there's one thing this flavor is, it's balanced. It has just enough hops and fruit elements to make it interesting. Quite tasty.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a smooth, yet lively, finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This is a rock solid, well made DIPA. Drinkable.

Purchased cans from brewery Jan 2019

Pours a “pretty”murky orange but not overly dense; notes of pineapple in the nose; just an overall super quaffable DIPA; tons of overripe fruit flavor- melon, citrus, mango(?)- come through with a slightly hop (oily) finish

Hope my buddies enjoyed what I brought back from the road, thinking I was a bit too generous!

On tap at Brookland Pint in Washington, DC. My first experience with Basic City.

Appearance: Pours a hazed out light orange. Not see through, but nothing approaching turbid or yeasty looking. Big fluffy white head that retains shockingly well for a DIPA.

Smell: Really bright. Mosaic, Amarillo, and Citra play really well. Definite interaction with some of the NE-style yeast esters. Maybe not the most intense aroma of all-time, but quite aromatic and so, so clean. Orange citrus, mango, light hints of resin. No onion, no astringency.

Taste: Really separates itself here. Massively bright once again. Orange juice-type citrus, mango, tropical fruit, and hints of resin. Sugar-cookie like pale malt backbone, but not overly sweet. Bitterness is on the low side, but not non-existent. A hint of bitterness lingers nicely along with some sweet citrus. Again, incredibly clean for a beer of this nature.

Feel: Quite appropriate for the style. Silky and lush. Low to medium bitterness never overtakes the palate. Bright and juicy, but never over the top sweet.

Overall: Awesome. A testament to what this style can be without going over the top.

The nose is bright and pungent, the flavor is great but not quite as impressive as the aroma. The more I have from these guys the more impressed I am with them

A nice happy medium between a NE and WC IPA for me. Relatively low bitterness, but the hops are a bit sharper than your typical NE IPA. It actually reminded me of an Answer IPA.

Tropical fruits abound, and just enough bitterness - this is a great IPA/DIPA. Undoubtedly the best IPA I've had in Western VA and the Shenendoah Valley (Pale Fire Arrant is the only one that's close). Very impressed with some of the beers I've had from BC - and stoked that this brewery is only half an hour from my house.

I will certainly be prioritizing the next can release of Bask.

This beer pours a bright, golden color with a tiny white head and a good stream of bubbles. The smell is actually quite subtle for a DIPA, and the taste is bright like the color with hints of citrus and low bitterness for a hoppy beer. Overall, a super easy drinking double ipa.

It appears that Basic City sent a drone up to New England and it returned with this beer strapped to the top of it. And that is perfectly fine with us down here in the Valley. If you aren't in the Waynesboro area to get it fresh on draft, no worries... They are canning it now and truth be told it is even better in the can than on draft!

a- Murky golden yellow in color. At the brewery, no lacing from a pint pour whatsoever, but from the can getting about 1/4 - 1/2 inch head that quickly dissipates.

s- Tropical fruit all over the place. Apricot, mango, orange. A little pineyness as the fruit clears. Not really getting any malt aroma in this at all.

T- Goes down smooth. Has a nice juicyness, while the bulk of the hops kick in near the back. Taste starts out matching the nose with apricot, mango, and citrus and then getting some pear and pineapple, but hits with a very nice bitterness. Definitely getting the dankness as I sip on, sort of an oniony earthy resinousness to it which is playing very well with the citrus. Reminds me of the Zero alcohol tasted which means this one is dangerous. If you are not careful, this one could be destroyed with three or four sips.

M - has a nice bubbly astringency up front but yeilds a little creamyness in the end. Im assuming there are a lot of hops in this but it doesn't leave you with the intense grapefruit type bitterness that you get with west coast style IPAs.

o - This is a solid DIPA. Bask has the complexities that make me want to drink the whole thing and then perhaps another one after that. An excellently crafted beer from a brewery leading the pack in the central Shenandoah Valley.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a thick, fluffy white head that takes its time to slowly fade down to some lacing. Smell is tropical fruits, a tiny bit of pine and bitterness. Taste is tropical fruits, a slight bit of orange juice, low bitterness. Soft body, creamy, easy to drink. Overall, very nice NEIPA, a few WC IPA notes to it so it's more like a hybrid. Not quite to the level of say The Veil or Triple Crossing, but just one notch below, and very reasonably priced. I'll certainly be buying more of this.
