Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a large brown foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt notes with some black chocolate notes and faint plum notes. Taste is a great mix of roasted malt notes with some chocolate notes and faint plum notes. Body is pretty full for style with good carbonation. Solid baltic porter with plum notes bringing in a different edge.

Black, light brown foam.
Intense smell, toastes, coffee, green nut husk.
Same for the taste, a lot of toasted notes, green nuts. Very smooth, vanilla.
Artichok in the aftertaste, along with a lot of coffee and liquorice.
Toasted caramel.
Good.

Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas, served in a balloon glass. Black color, small off white head with short retention, good lacing. Aroma of coffee dominating over the rest. Then, bitter chocolate, prunes, caramel and nuts. Medium to full body, sticky texture, normal carbonation. Sweet finish with roasted malts notes. Taste is again dominated by coffee. Bitter chocolate, nuts, prunes and caramel. Very good but not at the same level than some other Puhaste, IMO.

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a mesium, fluffy head. Smells of roasted, caramel malt, dark, bitter chocolate and dark fruits, with just a hint of coffee, licorice and herbal hops. Taste is a great balance of sweet'ish, roasted, caramel malt, dark fruits: raisin, plum and dark, bitter chocolate, with lighter notes of coffee and licorice and just a hint of earthy/herbal hops. Finishes bittersweet, with a medium bitterness and some dark chocolate and fruits lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium/rich body and medium carbonation.
Quite a nice Baltic Porter that is big on the roasted malt and bitter chocolate, as well as lighter licorice, coffee and herbal hops, rounded out by sweeter caramel and dark fruit notes. While they may not be quite on the same level as Pohjala, Pühaste is definitely another Estonian brewery to watch out for, especially when it comes to their Stouts and Porters.
