Look is decent: great head + lacing but color doesn't do much for me as it opaque brown hue lacks any sense of vibrancy Not much going for it smellwise except for a general crisp sense. Taste delivers. Bit of mango in the front with the juicier hops coming in the middle, finally giving way to the dryer hops and a return of the mango. Feels pretty great in the mouth too: not overbearing but never approaches the watery feeling less than ideal IPAs often have.

Not the best judge, but velvety smooth on the lips, lacing upon the glass is a quintessential good beer. Provided, it hits on balance throughout with each drink, and it sits. ROMANCE, WOW, this one does!

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium, light to moderately hazy, golden amber with a one finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus hops, lemon, orange, grapefruit and a little dankness. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and lightly piney hops, lemon and grapefruit. Piney and citrus rind hop finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A straightforward and not too complex West Coast style IPA. The pale malt has little individual character, but supports the hops satisfactorily. The hops have nice pine and citrus notes, but the hop bitterness is left a bit stark and astringent in the finish, with some lingering old juice notes. OK, but does not stand out in a crowded field of WC style IPAs.

I was pretty sure I knew what I was getting coming into this one. It was kind of like my tryst with Mary Sue that one weekend getaway; it did the trick, but wasn’t memorable.
Yep, this thing is more plain and average than a pepperoni pizza without pepperoni. It’s all West Coast and all of that - hoppy and bitter and stuff. And then, well, that’s where things end.
Bye.

On draft in California
Dark yellow with small white head leaving some thin lacing. Just a slight bit of haze.
Grapefruit and tropical fruit dominate. Get some pine with a fairly long bitter finish.
Medium carbonation that's fits the style nicely.
Nothing outstanding but certainly a decent drinkable IPA. Always nice to try something new.
