mc² is Photon’s big brother. We literally took Photon’s hopping rate and squared it. This DIPA is our tribute to the amazing relationship that energy and mass are balanced, proportional to the speed of a photon squared. It pours a hazy tangerine color, releasing bright tropical notes of mango, pineapple, and apricot. mc² tastes like succulent mango juice loaded with chewy hop resins. It’s very drinkable for 8.0%; be careful, this one can sneak up on you.

Very pumped to finally be enjoying a can of this, since Equilibrium just expanded distribution into the state of NH, just north of me in MA. As soon as I saw the South NH Craft Beer Cellar post about getting distro from these guys, I immediately hopped in my car and took the drive to grab a can of each of the three hoppy beers they received. I've only ever had one EQ beer before, on tap somewhere in Western MA randomly, so this should be a great experience.
The pour here is initially dingy and kind of... not great looking, honestly, but the head is retentive and fluffy, the lacing is spectacular, and the haze is pretty stable and consistent. I just don't like the deeper-than-expected, golden-orange/medium amber hue and the rather messy way it looks when held up to light. It seems most reviewers don't share my small gripes with this beer, but something about it seems a little off to me for whatever reason.
I don't think the hop bill for this is listed anywhere, nor could I find anything about what is used in this beer's little brother, Photon. I will say the smell is quite nice. Very juicy and tropical with an upfront hit of mango and papaya pulp with a touch of grapefruit and tangelo. Quite a bit of pineapple and a little hint of Golden Promise-ish sweet malt layered into the main scent as well. Perhaps some chive-like notes from rawer hops? Perfumey and very hop-saturated/dense. I'm sure there's going to be a lot to talk about when this finally hits my palate!
First sip is super chewy and surprisingly resinous, with a thick and rich hop melange slowly drifting across the tongue, layering flavors of apricot, tangerine, grapefruit, papaya, and mango with some backend notes of grassy resin and dankness. Almost no actual bitterness to speak of; this must be dry-hopped to hell and back! This might be a little too heavy for its own good, though, as I will say the mouthfeel lacks much carbonation and almost feels a bit one-note after I'm done half the can. At that point, I'm kinda sad to say I'm ready for something else, but the juiciness is hard to deny here, and if that is indeed what they're going for, they nailed it. If you want a true NE tropical juice bomb (from outside of NE proper, of course), this will scratch that itch. If you're looking for anything else, this isn't gonna work for you.

This is an excellent full body imperial IPA. Very delicious however not overly flavorful, but a nice balance. Tropical fruit flavors along with some yeasty bread, not very bitter. Date was May 14 of 2026 and I drank it on May 28 of 26

A nice bitter & pine DIPA. Coming in at 8%. Really like the beers from EB. Grapefruit peel highlights the initial taste.

The can is emblazoned with wild Einstein hair. Incredible tall and dense white head. The beer itself is a milky pale yellow color. Soft. The aroma has a lot of complexity...fruit (melon, citrus), floral, earthy, and an wild tea-like scent. The taste is more balanced than I expected...flavorful and engaging. Wonderful.

Look: pale straw, hazy, thick merengue like head, heavy lacing
Smell: melon, pineapple, tangerine, resin
Taste: pineapple, mango, apricot, pine resin, tangerine
Feel: med body, moderate carbo, soft
Overall: 8% abv. Love the taste profile on this one. The pine resin just melds so well with the citrus flavors and resonates. Excellent brew! Highly recommended by me and Einstein. In his immortal words, be smart but don't be a smart ass. Drink this brew paired with YYZ by Rush and enjoy.

For a few summers there I was buying 2 cases of Equilibrium. Expensive, but fun, almost always reliable. This is like their double photon I'm told.
Pours in the hazy style, yellow, 1/2" white head. Decent retention. The aroma throws a substantial amount of tropical and stone fruit notes. Pineapple, guava, apricot, mango etc. . .
The taste bring that plus some pine like bitterness that is pretty subdued with the hazy body. The alcohol is very well subdued, this is one of those 8% dipas that drinks like a pale ale on a warm day. Quickly. Light green hop burn to it, damn these got here quickly I guess. Lively carbonation helps keep the levity and drinkability up, but might contribute to that hop greenness coming through.
I believe this to be one of the better Equilibrium hoppy beers, although they're all so similar, reminds me a lot of Revision that we have out here, six different hops, 100 slightly different ipas.

Poured from a 16oz can into a Belgian tulip glass. Pours a pale lemon yellow color with a generous fluffy white head. Sticky lacing coats the glass. The aroma greats you immediately. A symphony of mango, pine, orange zest, and a bit of resin. Taste is mango forward, with a bit of vanilla, melon, and peach. The hop resin gives a somewhat dank note on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium for a DIPA and highly carbonated, hiding the otherwise elevated ABV. Cheers!

16oz can. Bottom date stamp is '04-24-25', about six weeks in the can.
Hazy for clarity, straw to pale gold for body color. Took three pours to empty the can into the glass because of the volume of white, pillowy head. The head subsides to a creamy cap and high ring. Leaves behind partial walls of lacing.
Aroma radiates from the glass, with smells of mango, pineapple, muskmelon, peach, a little resin, and a whiff of onion.
Taste is semi-sweet, with flavors of mango, papaya, green melon, pineapple, and peach. Has an underlying hop resin that permeates all the fruits, and adds a vegetal note. Also a hint of mint and onion. All flavors continue into the extended aftertaste.
More than medium mouthfeel. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Higher ABV% is clearly evident as vapors and a warming element. Mild tongue numbing but bitterness level is relatively low. Excellent carbonation.
Very pretty in presentation and dramatic in expression. Buzz worthy.

From the pint can, it pours a milky amber color with a large white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose adores the citrusy scent, followed by the mouth getting a citrusy flavored brew that is easy to drink.
