Notes: mc² is Photon’s big brother. We literally took Photon’s hopping rate and squared it. This DIPA is our tribute to the amazing relationship that energy and mass are balanced, proportional to the speed of a photon squared. It pours a hazy tangerine color, releasing bright tropical notes of mango, pineapple, and apricot. mc² tastes like succulent mango juice loaded with chewy hop resins. It’s very drinkable for 8.0%; be careful, this one can sneak up on you.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It left sticky ring of lace on the glass. It smelled of orange, grapefruit, pine and sweet caramel/toffee. Sweet tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a sharp, piney bitterness.

nose and taste are ripe mango, pineapple, hint of grapefruit. some peach. sweeter than I'd care for. lacks a balancing bitterness.

Poured at 53°. Two fingers of white mixed bubbles; long lasting cap retention; heavy ring and bands of sticky lacing; deep gold; hazy verging on opaque body. Grapefruit nose, followed by orange and mango. Taste is semi sweet fruit juice; light bitter grapefruit zest; firm malt base. Medium minus body; dusty hops mouth feel; moderate minus carbonation; no astringency; no warmth from 8% abv. Overall, a very drinkable (for me) hazy; light enough in body to be quaffable; no off-putting aromas; taste is citrus pith; not too sweet with a tint of bitterness in the linger - I like, and will gladly drink more!

Palate Contaminants: none

Medium-dark orange-yellow. Completely opaque. Lots of very fine head, and it leaves really nice lacing.

Orange and white grapefruit son the nose. Slight sweetness, but more oriented toward the bitter. Freshly cut grass, plus a bit of bark. Nice and earthy. Could be slightly more intense.

The taste basically has everything from the whole tree. Those citrus flavors are there, but green vegetation and green stems are also present. Both sweetness and bitterness are dialed up from the nose, but really the whole of the taste is two orders of magnitude more than the nose. Tasty, tasty brew.

Medium weight for the type. Alcohol is easily detectable. Carbonation is medium-fine and somewhat prickly. Bitter wood is the main aftertaste, although there are echoes of the grapefruit.

Canned 20 day ago, found this up north on the way back from a long hike. Lemme just say this one is a real treat. Mango all around, which isn't necessarily my favorite flavor or smell but made so absolutely smooth and delicious here. Brilliant use of hops, you'd swear there's mango extract in there! Persistent cap of dense white atop opaque yellow pour, aroma mango, flavor straight-up mango, mouthfeel perfection - so smooth, no cloying, not light, just perfect. Finish is clean with zero bitterness. Unable to detect any sign of alcohol along the way. These folks know what their doing with hops and brewing. Wowzers!

Good head production and decent retention. Body is opaque and turbid, a lemon-yellow hue with a tinge of orange.

Fairly sharp aroma, speaking of overripe mango, pineapple, peach, mandarin orange, mint, green herbs, and a slight earthy, pungent dankness.

Very smooth and juicy on the palate; green and herbal along the edges. Low bitterness; no astringency or hop burn. Flavors are similar to the nose: lemon zest, grapefruit, mango, herbs, mild dankness. It's more citrus-focused than the tropical-leaning nose.

Smooth on the palate with plenty of bite. Easy drinking for the ABV.

This is a very tasty IIPA, but it's not ground breaking or unique. Perhaps it was when it came out, but it tastes like so many other NE-style IPAs. That's not a bad thing; it's just not impressive on its own merits.

A-resplendent orange with moderate foamy head
S-Mangos and peaches
T-Mangos on steroids, with bitter hop punch. Average to above average bitter, below average sweet. No alcohol
M-Medium body, below avg carbonation.
O-I wasn't expecting this to be a hazy, but it was pleasantly not a hop-burn milkshake. Instead a nicely balanced NEIPA with flavor profiles I prefer.

Pours a hazy orange with a small fluffy head and light lacing.

Smells of slightly dank floral piney hops with some citrus.

Tastes of tart grapefruit, sweeter orange and a bit of pineapple with a mildly bitter finish.

Medium body with light prickly carbonation. Lightly lush any syrupy mouthfeel.

This is a very drinkable NEIPA which nicely balances the tart and bitter with the sweet tastes.

Bought this at a tap room/bottle shop in Houston. November 4 can date.

Pours a very pretty orangish yellow color with good head and great lacing. Very citrus orange smell and taste. Taste is excellent combination of tangy orange and sweet tangerine. A bit of a pleasant hoppy sharpness at the finish. Nice smooth feel that isn’t too pillowy. Overall an excellent beer and I wish I had more.

Appearance: Fresh on tap pours a cloudy peach color with ample and well-laced white head that portends quality.
Smell: Pungent peach, apricot, mango, and citrus fruit aroma with a bit of malt grains and alcohol sugar.
Taste: Tastes just like the nose: peach, mango, melon, pineapple, grapefruit and apricot mixed with a hoppy bitterness, hints of pine, a touch of alcohol sweetness and a rich malt backbone.
Feel: Medium body. Well-carbonated and a bit spritzer-like, finishes semi-dry.
Overall: A peachy, cloudy, NEDIPA that reminds me a bit of something between a Toppling Goliath beer and the local beers I had in Portland Maine. Good quality and quite enjoyable.

If less is indeed more, then the Equilibrium brewery has no interested in being more. More is more when it comes to hops, and Equilibrium pours an exponential amount of the "EQ" juice into a New England IPA to show that it's indeed hip to be squared.

Pouring with a turbidly hazy hue that's part gold and partly of honey, its creamy, frothy, ivory swath of foam that garnishes the rim is even more rife with citrus, botanicals and a tropical fragrances in a clear and concise Pacific Northwest kind of way. Malty rich early on the palate, the beer kicks off with honey and shortbread and touch of cookie dough.

As the malts continue to provide a supporting role to the favors of hops that are charged with a lively, ripe and radiant flavor on the middle palate. Red grapefruit, mandarin orange and peach take jump out immediately with a plump citronella herbal succulence. A backdrop of juicy pineapple, guava and mango add complexity in an overstated kind of way. Trending herbal, the finishing taste is of fresh spruce, green tea and a botanical gin-like.

Medium-full in body yet trending malty-dry, the malts drift away and the hop resins give a drying texture that highlights a spicy booze that evaporative in a cooling effect on the throat for a rather refreshing, drinkable and effortless session from beginning to end.

Thick two finger plus head, above average retention, even and clean white surface, not much lacing. The liquid is arguably translucent rather than full bore puree, basic yellow, you can see streams on miniscule bubbles rush upwards. The nose displays a fresh sort of dankness, not too ripe, pleasing malty backbone, nothing too overwrought about the melon, peach, pear fruit scents, same for the tangerine citrus, finishes with a hint of lactose or vanilla, something to that extent. Medium-bodied, supple, round and creamy mouth feel, not too heavy nor cloyingly sweet. Carbonation is steady and tends to make it expand across the palate more than prickle. Plenty of flavor in the peach, mango, melon, kiwi flavors, no real bite. Same mandarin orange to tangerine citrus, notable consistency from nose to palate. For any lack of fireworks it's very well made and appears to have been crafted with top notch ingredients. (Hence the price.) (Canned 6/24/21)
