Cloudy light orange with an oversized, very airy, off-white head that leaves some moderate soap-bubble lacing.
Lemon and orange citrus, honeydew and white pepper in the nose.
Orange juice, a lemon twist, pepper and toast in the taste. Citrusy bitterness in the finish. Maybe a touch of formaldehyde in the aftertaste, but it’s very light.
Full bodied for a pale ale with moderate fizz.
This is fine.

M: Light-medium bodies with moderate carbonation

Fairly nice pale ale, great tasting and good overall. No date printed on can. Pours a darker medium golden color with some fluffy white head and small rings of lingering lacing. Smells of fresh grapefruit and pineapple, some orange and vanilla. Also some malt and bread. Taste follows the nose, quite juicy and flavorful, good balance, smooth slightly sticky mouthfeel and good carbonation. Will have to try others from this brewery.

Poured from a growler filled at the brewery.
Pours an opaque golden orange color with a finger of bright white head. The head has solid retention, leaving some splotches of lace before settling into a creamy film.
The aroma is very light, but still pleasant. There are notes of grass, lemon drop candy, and oranges. The back end has the absolute faintest hint of pine.
The taste is just straight up like biting into an orange. There's some rind and subtle pine notes, but the orange flavor is the star of the show here.
The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Nicely crisp with a very dry finish.
Overall, a very tasty pale ale that absolutely lives up to its name. A nice, refreshing beer for a hot day.

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a light and hazy golden orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like sweet tangerine, orange marmalade, pine, and grassiness.
The citrus infusion here makes for a pretty sweet and juicy beer. I'm not necessarily sure that the beer here is better than the regular base Photon, but it's still quite tasty, as we are talking about Equilibrium after all. There's a very slight bitterness, and the whole spectrum of tropical citrus character- your usual mango and pineapple and tangerine and all that. You've heard it a million times.
This is light bodied and crisp, with a surprising amount of flavor for only 4.8%. The carbonation level is normal.
I don't usually like hoppy beers that have fruit added to them, and to be real, I don't think this is an improvement on the base beer. It is very tasty, however, and that's the important part in the end.
