Brewed with Galaxy and Mosaic. Our friend Brandon from The Answer came up to brew with us. We shared unique brewing philosophies and made them synergistic to construct this DIPA. It pours a hazy tangerine orange and releases bright notes of pineapple and blueberry with an aroma that mirrors the balanced and drinkable taste.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of orange, grapefruit, pineapple and caramel. Sweet tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a piney bitterness.

i liked these guys a little better when they were smaller, when their stuff felt a little more hands on, cared for, my brother used to ship them out fresh to me once in awhile, not that they are sold through distribution in idaho and i imagine they have to be much bigger, the quality sort of goes unchecked, at least by the time it gets to me out here, this seems not super fresh, and a little derivative, past the extent that so many of these are, perhaps im more annoyed with the style generally right now than i am with this beer, although the hops do come through a little bit unique, the beer overall leaves something to be desired for me, not quite as refined as i want it to be, even for a big hazy. this has some sediment in it, quite a bit actually, looks yeasty and very dense, creamy and high headed though, and with excellent carbonation, but the fish food turns us off. the nose has some warm alcohol to it right away even though the beer is ice cold, i get the pineapple mosaic notes, not catty at all like it can sometimes be, and an oddly spice side of galaxy, a little lime jello in the mix, grassy and green too, obviously massively hopped. the flavor has some front end balance from a sort of raw wheaty and fuller grain base, nice and dry which is nice, white wine notes, new tennis balls, orange juice, light pine and resin, clean lemon, mowed lawn, some vegetal harshness but not bitter for being this hoppy overall. a new school yeast element might be coming out as it warms, the bottom gets a little dense and yucky, but its kind of cool for the hops to be so intense, more aggressive on the palate than they usually come across, and there is something cool about this, even if its obscured by the size and lack of refinement, its still there. at the end of the day though, its another overpriced single of ageing huge hazy ipa that is lost in the crowd for me, and i miss when having beer from equilibrium felt a lot more special, and tastes a lot better. i know this has varied a little from batch to batch, and im not positive which one we had, no yellow banner across the top of the label, no green banner on the bottom calling out the hop varietals, maybe one of the newer ones. good for sure, but overrated here on BA, at least based on my experience, but freshness was almost assuredly as issue. hope to try this again, and many of these again, when freshness can be guaranteed!

16 ounce can
Served in an imperial nonic pint glass
This beer pours orange and is hazy. It is topped with a couple inches of beige head that coats the side of the glass.
Citrus and medicinal aroma
Medicinal flavor with citrus notes.
Medium bodied with a pillowy mouthfeel
Decent beer. Overpriced.

02/02/22 stamped on label. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.
A: Hazy lemonade yellow with stout 2-finger white frothy head with good retention and thick sticky lacing.
S: Aroma is strong with fruit including pineapple, mango, orange, and lime with a mild dank, herbal undercurrent. Esters are low-medium and floral > fruity.
T: Flavor mirrors the aroma but is more aggressive with heavy hop burn, strong pineapple, orange, and a very strong lemongrass herbal note through the mid-palate. Alcohol is noticeable but not over the top. Bitterness is medium and yeast character is high.
M: Not as smooth as many in this style with heavy hop burn even in the first half of the pour with medium body and lowish carbonation.
O: Excellent representation of the style although I think they would have similar aromatic intensity but a more drinkable package with lower hop loads. I know that may not be the point though….
