Notes: Energy Equals is a companion beer to MC². It completes the equation. Aside from debuting some awesome artwork from local illustrator, @juliagreenartistwhosings, we wanted to start with MC² as a base as it’s the beer we know best and incorporate new process techniques from dHop16, Imperium, and Experimentum as a comparison to see how these process tweaks would manifest and play out. Energy Equals has enhanced flavor characteristics of mango, pineapple, citrus, and apricot. With the new technique in place, we notice a much deeper flavor profile while being extremely bright and lighter in body. It’s extremely crushable with our #EQjuice finish. For science, we will also have MC² available for a side by side comparison.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 8/2019. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn/pine, honey, wheat, white bread dough, biscuit, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, and dark/bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn/pine, honey, wheat, white bread dough, biscuit, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn/pine, honey, wheat, white bread dough, biscuit, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, and dark/bready malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness, Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is an incredible NEDIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish; amazingly soft/silky feel for the ABV. Feels like Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank/earthy hops; with a perfectly balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazingly spot on style example as expected.

Appearance - pours turbid orange with a huge soapy white head excellent retention. Lots of sticky lacing.

Aroma - Lots of orange, mango, muscadine, grassy hops, orange zest.

Taste - Mango, pineapple, white grape, grassy hops, citrus peel. Taste is not what I would call sweet, tropical flavors but not sweet, nice bitter finish.

Feel - Medium bodied slightly creamy nice dry finish.

Overall - Very well done IPA, love the balance great flavors.

On tap at the nova. White head with lace. Dark golden orange color. Hazy.

Mango and passionfruit bomb. Some citrus and stonefruit. Earthy, but soft and juicy. Massive flavorwave. Very impressed with this one.

On tap at Civil Society WPB. Murky orange. Smells of orange and some soapy hops. Tastes of lemony hops, some light grain, then sweet pale malt, and some orange zest. Medium body. It's dynamic, at least. More complex than the other juice bombs I had today.
