12oz can, tulip, "Day 21 Send Beer" on the bottom of the can. A quarantine shout out.
Deep copper color, smallish off-white head that leaves a snowflake of a design on top.
Earthy, musty, gummy bears, orange zest.
Whole grains, earthy, and spicy with a juiciness to it, like classic gummy or lychee jelly candy. It's a very full malty experience that does have some sweetness, yet is definitely weighted towards more savory rye bread and bird seed flavors and has fruity and citric hopping to balance it.
Nice full medium body with creamy carbonation.
Hairpin is a great rye pale ale with a lot of flavor and I always want another.

$ 1.90 (Including tax and discount)/12 oz can ($ 0.158/oz) from Total Wine-Forum, Selma, TX. Reviewed 3/27/19.
Can stamped “DEEP IN THE HEART 2457969” on bottom. On shelf at store. Stored at 42 degrees and served at 42 degrees in a hand washed and dried glass coffee cup.
Appearance – 4.
Body – Dark yellow, hazy.
Head – Large (Maximum 7 cm, aggressive center pour), very light tan, medium density, average retention, diminishing to a three to five mm ring and a heaped complete layer. Head retraction likes three-dimensional torn curtain lacing on the wall.
Lacing – Excellent! Three-dimensional rings of tiny to small bubbles, connected by a few thin columns. Also, see above.
First pour – Yellow, very slight haze.
Aroma – 3 – Faint rye spiciness.
Flavor – 3.5 – Begins with some rye spiciness followed by some semi-sweet malt. ends slightly bitter. No alcohol (6.38% ABV), no dimethylsulfide, no diacetyl.
Palate – 3 – Thin, watery, soft carbonation.
Impression and interpretation – 3.5 – Rye is definitely there and the lacing is excellent.

Pours a clear reddish coppery color with off-white/ivory colored head. Some rye spice, caramel malt, floral notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. Light to medium bodied. Finishes with more rye, but just doesn't pack the rye punch.

(from the brewery)
We finely tuned 3 grains, a copious amount of hops added throughout the boil and then balanced it with rye to create this one-of-a-kind ale. Some may call it an IPA, a Pale Ale or maybe even a variation of an Irish red. We really don’t care for labels, we just know it nails the dry, crisp taste and depth we were looking for.
Outstanding 'session ale' - easily the best at the brewery!
