or this variant we take our 14.5% ABV heavily roasted rye stout and condition it on fresh roasted Pecan Sticky coffee from Happy Mug Coffee. Dessert in a can with a heavily roasted chocolate sweetness balanced with it's coffee finish

12oz can served in a Kane tulip. Dated 08/26/21. Received from @MacMalt in NBS BIF #14.
Pours very dark brown (surprisingly light in color based on description, style, and strength). Small head. Smell is coffee, nuts, syrup sweetness, only a whiff of booze. And dark chocolate.
Taste is not what I was expecting -- it's deeply bitter in the roast/burnt region. The sweetness is there, but taking a backseat. Booze is more noticeable in the taste than the aroma (right now). Way more anise. Coffee and chocolate are still there, for sure, and the nuts are much less noticeable but still there.
Mouthfeel is medium, chewy/sticky. Overall, this is really nice. It'll be interesting to let this bad boy warm up.

Canned on 01/01/21 "Koffee Is Closers"
Thanks MacMalt.
Beautiful pour. Damn near black. Mocha colored froth asserted itself strongly, but settled to scattered patches of diminutive bubbles. But some nice clumpy lacing.
Nose is beautiful. Cocoa, bright fresh coffee, almost green yet not vegetal, slightly nutty.
Flavor goes further. Deep coffee starts off, shifting to a mild nutty roast, a well rounded baker's chocolate, smooth, understated caramel notes, hints of earthy char, then back to a nice full flavored dark roast coffee. It really moves around all of these flavors. Fun to see how they play together as it warms. I love how it hints at the sweet, but definitely stays closer to a traditional Russian Imperial stout than the sweeter, more modern takes on the style.
Mouthfeel is chewy enough for style. Mild carbonation, smooth in the mouth. Almost no warmth to hint at ABV.
Overall I have no constructive feedback, just praises. Would hit this regularly if it was in distro here.

Looks as a stout should, the head is a bit thin and fades rather fast leaving a strong lacing on the glass. Smells heavily of dark chocolate and coffee. The taste starts off great and gets better as the beer warms to the point that I may have served it too cold. Leaves a great finish yet little aftertaste.
A wonderful stout with no downsides.

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate and a bit of coffee. Feel is good, maybe not great for an RIS, but good. Overall it's solid and at 14.5% best to enjoy carefully.

Medium body, maybe even a little thin with very light carbonation .
Aroma is coffee and dark fruits foremost, with some roasted malt, nuts
Taste is coffee, dark fruit, alcohol, astringent. Some wood, earthy, a little dry.
Alchohol isnt hidden very well and definitely affects the flavor but overall it's a nice sipper .

22 June 2020 - Beer #126
Corona Day #102
Price: $4.75 at Bottle King in Glen Rock, NJ
Appearance: 4 - definitely very brown. Looks like a coke. Pretty thin.
Nose: 5 - yeah this is what coffee stouts should smell like. 50:50 coffee to stout ratio, not like some of the others that are like 90:10. It's a stout, people!
Taste: 5 - exactly. Super roasty stout complemented perfectly by tasty coffee. You would never guess this is 14.5% ABV.
Mouth: 4 - not as thin as it looks. It bulks up at the back of the throat and goes down smooth.
Overall: 5 - an outstanding coffee stout. Stay tuned for the nitro version!
Stay safe out there, my friends.
Cheers!

Pours a dark brown/borderline black a big fluffy head that didn't stick around very long.
Roasty coffee and malts, toffee, pecans on the nose.
Taste follows with coffee and toasted pecan leading the way. Roasty malts, chocolate, some toffee notes.
Nice full body with good carb level. Smooth and creamy.
Overall an excellent stout, the flavors stand out on their own yet balance together quite nicely. If I hadn't read the can I wouldn't have had any indication that this one clocks in at 14.5%. Very drinkable.

3rd of pack from DC. Just realized this is the coffee version.
A touch more bitter. Very strong and in your face, but the nuttiness is still very good.

Canned on 11/24/2018. Poured from 16 oz. can into a tulip glass. It pours an oily ink black with dark walnut hues. The frothy, light mocha head faded quickly leaving lots of soapy lacing inside the glass. On the nose there is abundant coffee, cocoa, caramel, roasty malt, and pecans. When sipped, the first thing I taste is freshly-brewed coffee and pecans, followed by bakers chocolate and brown sugar. As it finishes there are notes of dark fruit and sweet chocolate and then a strong earthy, bitter char. Each taste washes over the previous ones and they compliment each other very well. This stout has a rich, viscous, chewy mouth feel with a pleasant level of carbonation, and there's no escaping the 14.5% ABV. It's a slow sipper, for sure. Overall, this is a very well-executed RIS. It's highly flavorful and has an excellent mouth feel. Icarus has really done a great job with it and I'm anxious to try the other variants.
