everything i have had from these guys so far has been pretty funky or wild or ambitious, so it was cool to encounter something a little more basic from them and see it done so well. this is a really excellent example of the style, and its cool they are as capable here as they have been with the fruited sours! this is fresh and dry and bright and pretty bold on flavor for being as drinkable as it is. not quite perfectly clear, good tall white head on it, and a classic aromatic mix of fresh pilsener malt, noble hops, and old worldy lager yeast, very traditionally styled, but just seems fresher and a little more bold than most of the imports. the grain has a bit of body to it, a cereal taste, light crackery pale quality about it, and the yeast compliments it super will, this is nice and dried out but also has an earthy bready element from the strain, its just right. the hops add the right amount of bitterness but also a little more flavor than a lot of these have it seems, and there is wonderful floral and tea-like character in the finish, orange blossom, cut grass, and dried herbs. high carbonation, bone dry, and refresh and satisfying on each sip. a supremely well made beer that has me even more excited about little beast, turns out they are more than a one trick pony, this was real impressive and i want another one!

Can from the Beermongers

A clear golden yellow with a dense, white head that falls off rapidly, this looks solid. The nose is surprisingly hoppy, with an earthy, mildly woodsy and twig like bitterness along with a deep, doughy malt character. A little buttery as well. The palate opens surprisingly bitter with pungent and potent bitterness, earthy, and mildly grassy. This is followed by a nice biscuity and doughy malt, a hair too sweet but still quite nice. Bitter, sweet, mildly soapy on the finish, this beer is quite tasty, if unrefined.

Beautiful beer, but not anything spectacular or game changing necessarily. The lightest bit of fog in the light yellow body, with a spongy looking white head on top. A flaked miss surface coverage with some spotty lacing is all that remains after only moments.

The aroma is exactly what you would expect; clean biscuity malts, a drop of wildflower honey, and a squeeze of pungent dried grassy hop juices... If that makes any sense.

Quite the pissy lager. The biscuit, honey, and grass are all there, but a bitter coriander seedy-like punch escalates after and between sips. A bit harsh, actually. Flaked corn comes to mind as well.

Clean and light body with a sharp carbonation. A punch of initial sweetness is quickly overcome by dry and bitter dominance. It's easy enough to take big swigs, but instigates a good amount of time between sips.

Well, to be perfectly honest, this is my least favorite from Little Beast thus far. Not a bad beer, just a little off for me. Hard thing here is I can't tell what I'd like different about it...
