Poured a cloudy yellow with very little white head, into a 4oz sampling glass. Mild carbonation evident. The smell was surprisingly non-existent; MAYBE a little banana, but that's pushing it. The taste was a little more flavorful, in terms of citrus and banana, but that's not saying much. The feel was better than expected, with more carbonation than was evident in the appearance. Drinkable? Well, I'd rather session a wheat beer with more spice and fruit flavor.

Reviewed on 05/20/2009. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy light orange with a small white head. Aroma of light wheat malt and citrus. Flavor of light fruits (raspberry and strawberry in particular) and light malts. A chill sipper, but a touch sweet.

On tap @ the brewpub on 5/24/09. Served in a pint glass.

Pours a fairly clear gold color, which is topped by a 1/2 finger of foamy brite-white head. Retains about the same level, staying rich, and dousing the sides of the glass with lace that quickly slides down. The Crystal hops in the nose really give this nose some zip. Floral and a touch spicy, on top of additional notes of citrus and bready wheat sweetness.

The taste is sweet wheat tones, with a bloom of toasted breadiness which emerges along with a smack of light citrus and a moderately bitter and spicy hop profile that firms up the back of swallow. Light drying bitterness lingers in the finish, along with some residual malt sweetness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied but still really easy feeling thanks to the prickly crispness of the hops. Overall tight and refreshing feel here.

Judging from the earlier reviews, it looks like Willimantic took this back to the drawing board with some great results. As a matter of fact, this didn't even come off like a Hefe to me at all, feeling much more like an American Pale Wheat Ale (the ABV was listed as 5.1%) Crisp, flavorful, and easydrinking, this was some good stuff.

L: Pours a hazy yellow color with a medium sized and medium bodied white colored head.
S: Smells of sweet wheat and lightly toasted malts underneath a nice orange aroma.
T: Very nice wheat and pale malt base underneath a really refreshing orange flavor that really makes this beer. It doesn't taste like a traditional hefe, but I really enjoyed the flavor of this beer.
M: Very smooth, refreshing, fresh.
D: Very drinkable, I would recommend it for a summer session beer.

The beer is a hazy cinnamon amber, semi filtered looking, topped with a weak misting. Some blobs of lace, but nothing to write home about.
The aroma is minimal, with a light, crisp wheat maltiness and some light lemony hops. Very weak, even with a good swirl.
Flavor is mainly a light, mild wheat maltiness, with some lemon and a very, very light clove coming through in the middle. Some yeasty flavors, although mostly dry and doughy, rather than sweet. Vague herbal hopping towards the end, with a dryish finish. High level of carbonation, almost sparkling, with a weakish light body. The carbonation aids the dryness in the finish, which is pleasant.
Not very interesting at all. The kind of beer you'd add fruit to make it more exciting. I don't think I'll get this again, unless they flavor it with something off the wall. Definitely Willibrew's lamest beer....actually it's their only lame beer, that I've had.
