Arrived mid afternoon on St Patty's Day. The place was packed, both the bar and restaurant. We waited about 10 minutes for a table (not bad) in the Main Street Cafe. The brewery and restaurant are housed in the old Willimantic Post Office, which is a grand old federal building with vaulted ceilings. Even though it was crowded you had plenty of space around your table. The collection of tap handles and beer related items that line the walls is very impressive and gives you plenty to look at while waiting for your beer. You will see a lot of frog art (even on the sign outside) as this is the symbol of Willimantic - there is the frog bridge just down Main street.
There is a excellent selection of brewed on premise beers, along with other beers from local breweries to national and international brands. I choose a flight (called Beer Sampler here) of 5 beers, 4 ounces each for 7.50 (one had a .50 surcharge, proceeds going to Community Foundation of Eastern CT Women's Fund). All five were tasty, my favorite being the Colonial Ale, which also donated a portion of the proceeds to the local museum.
The food was good and reasonably priced. I had a Shepard's Pie and my wife enjoyed her beer battered fish & chips.
Definitely a place to visit whenever your are in the area!

This is the only place I would fly to CT for. Amazing service, amazing food, the best bartender in the US (Cheers to you, Barry!). Try the jambalaya, (or if you're feeling brave, the nachos are gargantuan.)
Favorite beer was a seasonal red ale, but you can never go wrong with a classic Certified Gold. Lots of featured guest taps, but everything they brew is stellar!!

The best thing about this place is food, followed closely by the vibe. The selection and taste of food is phenomenal, and I would not hesitate to come back here for food alone. The folks at the place, and the workers, were both very friendly and helpful. Selection of beer at the time that I went wasn't the biggest, but Hoppy Hour was memorable and I would get again if ever having an opportunity. A great place in middle of Connecticut.

Great place near ECSU for a great beer selection and upscale pub food. The place can be loud and packed on weekends during parents visits or after home games. Great in house beer selection that everyone can find something they like. I have been going to Main Street since the late 90's and always visit when back in town with friends.

We ate lunch in the pub section on a Saturday, at noon it was filling up, by 2 it was packed.
The house brewed offerings were very good, had a Nugget IPA, and a Marzen. Both had good clarity. and body
each was well presented. Our server was exceptionally helpful and was super attentive.
The menu is pretty large, with solid offerings, I had a salad, nicely dressed and presented, wife had a Tuna
wrap that was excellent.
The pub side of the building is simply incredible, high ceilings and lots of woodwork.
An excellent time was had by all, worth the trip.
The pricing is appropriate for the quality.
Cheers

By far the best brewpub I've ever been to. Usually places like these make really mediocre beer, but not Willimantic. Their beers are actaully really well done, especially the hoppy offerings. The place is seated in the heart of Willimantic, close to ECSU and UConn, located inside of a retired post office building. High ceilings and a lot of tables, outdoor patio, and a long narrow bar define the establishment. Food seems pretty decent, a lot of good menu items with some beer related sides. Strongly recommend.

Willi Brew is a must stop for me when visiting family. Always amazed at the selections of brew offered up either from their own collection or from guest breweries.
The food has always been first rate. No complaints at all!
Huge bar and dining area.
Every Time I walk in I am reminded of standing in line with my Grandfather to buy Stamps. Owners have done everything possible to retain the original architecture of the old Post Office that was build in the early 1900's.

Massive old federal style Post Office building with vaulted ceilings and vintage marble and wood features feels a bit like stepping back in time. Lively lunch crowd the day I was there, the place is definitely popular with the locals. Long bar across the front of the building seats at least 30. Large dining are on the right has the feel of a ballroom because of the high ceilings. 10 of the beers on tap, with a few guests and large bottle and can list. Friendly efficient service, and full restaurant menu of excellent food.
