Trejo’s Cerveza is as badass as its namesake. This Mexican Craft Lager beer perfectly represents El Jefe and LA culture with its bold, cool and distinctive taste. The straw-colored lager is refreshingly crisp and clean, and embodies everything that makes Mexican Beer so damn good. Trejo’s Cerveza is smooth and unexpected, and is always the life of the party.

Ingredients: Rahr Premium Pilsner Malt, Weyermann Munich Type 1 Malt (Light), Flaked Rice, Flaked Maize, Magnum Hops, Tettnang Hops, Lager Yeast (RBY 4).

16oz CANNED ON 07/25/2022 (9 months ago...no date on the cardboard packaging) poured into a shaker pint glass at fridge temp 4.7% ABV per can. The beer pours mostly bright light amber with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island. Spotty lacing. The aroma is mild with yeasty pale malt. The taste is semisweet pale malt with a crisp, mildly bitter hop finish. The label lists both corn & rice and both are there in the taste and lightness of body. The mouthfeel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, decent craft AAL given the age. I suspect it would be excellent fresh.

The pour is golden yellow with little carbonation. The taste is corn, malts, & faint hop note near the finish. This is easy drinking & tasty. If you've not had this & you like Mexican lager then you're missing out. Shout out to Danny Trejo he makes good movies & good beer. Cheers! B

I tried this beer off the tapper at the Trail Town Brewery in Yellow Springs, Ohio. It poured a clear golden with white head that did not leave much lace. There was subtle grain mixed with very mild citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base supporting grain and mellow lime flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Mexican cerveza brewed in Wisconsin… God Bless America! Slightly sweet, floral, snow white head. Better than the average American adjunct, but for the price… I’ll get a suitcase of MGD.

This pours clear & golden. Slight must on the nose, which I imagine is from the corn and lime. It’s an easy drinker, one I wouldn’t mind having again.

If there is one thing I respect, its using their own against them. Just gives you another shield. So get your celebrity unassailability on, because you can't criticize!

Pours a fizzy yellow out on the golf course. Branding. Big up and down head that settles into not really much of a head but more of a film of some soapy head. A thin film, not like a motion picture. The aroma was corny. Not really getting that marzen like influence some of the better ones have going for them. Big meh so far.

Taste brings the corn and pilsner malt. The lager yeast here is quite hidden. The hopping is light beer levels. You wouldn't buy or rate this high without the special card. You'd call it a cash grab. You'd call it trash. Its got some major carbonation levels. I wouldn't say this does anything wrong, but there isn't really a whole lot right with it either. Its passable in both ways. Its made for the Corona crowd, and that's ok and all.

16oz can, served in a pilsner glass. Canned on 11:09 04/17/21.

Appearance: Clear pale gold, with a white head that died back to just a skin across the top. No lacing.

Smell: A little floral, sweet, with a hint of citrus and berry.

Taste: Clean, lightly malty, a little on the sweet side, with a very lightly bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: A little thicker than water, good carbonation, dry/crisp finish.

Overall / Drinkability: Easy drinking, but nothing special. Hits the style rather well though. Need to find the right food to pair with it as by itself it's just okay - I suspect it would be better with food. However, it is over a year old, but it held up well.

Trejo pours a straw yellow color had a short head and smelled good and sweet. Canned 04/17/21 it's tastes sweet corn and is getting better as I drink it. Maybe a tad sweet. but easy drinking mouthfeel and overall you'll be ready for salt, lime and a shot of tequila it's so sweet. Reminds me of a lighter Landshark. I'll be ready for a Lone Star. Te amo Danny Trejo

Actually this one was quite surprising, and stood out in its representation of the much maligned adjunct lager style.

Grass and straw, grains, very nice aroma and a nice sweet taste to accent the grains.

Most of all super easy drinking and refreshing.

Pour is a clear golden color with two fingers of white soapy head. The head is slowly receding into the beer as I type.

Smell is a nice clean lager smell. Nice white bread crust and biscuit smell. Getting a cracker smell as well, saltine cracker, salt and all as well.

Very malt like taste. A bit of hop presence in the far background. A bit of sweet corn.

Leaning towards the upper end of the light mouth feel. Almost into the medium. Finish is smooth. Not crisp but smooth.

This is a pretty nice lager. I get more of an American adjunct lager than like a Mexican Vienna style lager with maize. I can't knock it for being a good beer but the target does seem a bit off. Maybe if they tricked it up a bit with a touch of lime and salt. The Mexican lager could be there if you really look for it but it just seems so much more of an American adjunct.. That said again, this still is a very tasty beer. Nice malt forward beer. Seems a bit heavier than the 4.7 ABV. I gotta say I like the beer. Cheers!
